TCEC welcomes Zac Perkins as new CEO

Zac Perkins has officially stepped into the position of TCEC Chief Executive Officer with the recent retirement of Jack Perkins. Zac has been the acting CEO since May 2016 leading TCEC through the challenges of the economy and fast-paced industry changes.

The new CEO’s forward looking vision has already aided in TCEC’s progress in the electric utility industry. He always has the member’s best interest in mind.

“You and I own this company,” said CEO Zac Perkins. “I work and all of the employees work for the membership of this cooperative. Every decision we make affects us too.”

Zac started his electric cooperative industry career in 2003 with Swisher Electric Cooperative as the Marketing and Safety Coordinator. In 2007, Zac joined the TCEC team as the Assistant Manager of Member Service. He was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2014.

The TCEC Board of Trustees offered the role of CEO to Zac in advance to make sure the transition was as seamless as possible. Many members and employees can attest to their wise decision in looking out for TCEC’s future.

Zac is an Oklahoma Panhandle State University graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He graduated from Oklahoma Leadership and from the Robert I. Kabat Management Internship Program through the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.

He is actively involved with multiple boards on local, state and national levels. He serves on the Oklahoma Panhandle State Foundation Board, the Oklahoma Association of Electric

Cooperatives Board and the National Energy Solutions Institute Board to name a few.

Zac has been pivotal to TCEC’s progress. He created a progressive resource energy park located at TCEC’s headquarters showcasing a 1 MW community solar project, a 1 MW wind turbine project and a 2 MW diesel generator - all critical technologies for the future of the electric utility industry.

Zac is committed to continuing the progressive leadership and dedication to doing what is right for the member at TCEC. n

Your feedback helps us improve!

TCEC has partnered with TSE Services to conduct a member satisfaction survey. They will call 400 residential TCEC members in April on weeknights before 9 p.m. and Saturday afternoons.

As a cooperative member of TCEC, you are an owner who has a voice. This is the cooperative difference. To help ensure your voice is heard, TCEC conducts this survey that rates how satisfied members are about our services. Satisfaction is measured by the respected American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI). Results are compared not only with other electric cooperatives, but also with ACSI data from other utilities.

The survey also measures how satisfied and how aware members are of specific services we provide. Surveyed members are asked if they would like a call back on any questions or concerns. Members are welcome to provide feedback at any time by calling 580.652.2418 or emailing info@tcec.coop.
