NEWSCAST Hitchiner Manufacturing will


consolidate its New Hampshire manufacturing operations into its Milford site and wind down opera- tions at its Littleton manufacturing complex over the next year. The phase-out will affect approximately 135 employees. The operating economics of the Littleton facility and its distance from the Milford wax, shell and casting opera- tions prompted the action. While this decision means fewer jobs in Littleton, it means more jobs in Milford, and it better positions Hitchiner to be a globally competi- tive industry leader. Chassix Holdings Inc., South-


field, Mich., has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization. Chassix reached agreement with 80% of its unsecured bondhold- ers and 71.5% of its senior secured


bondholders, its existing spon- sor and all of its largest customers regarding the terms of a plan to restructure and recapitalize the com- pany. Chassix was launched in 2013 as a single integrated source for pre- cision chassis casting and machining solutions. It was formed following Platinum Equity’s purchase and subsequent integration of the Di- versified Machine Inc. (DMI) and SMW Automotive LLC (SMW) businesses, resulting in the creation of a $1.4-billion global automotive supplier. Imerys, Paris, has completed the


acquisition of S&B from its share- holders, founding family and investment fund Rhône Capital. It will become part of the Filtration & Performance Additives business group. FATA Aluminum LLC, Sterling

Conn., has opened a new office in Mexico as part of its global expan- sion strategy. The process measure- ment and control systems provider is part of U.K.-based Spectris plc, a leading supplier of productivity- enhancing instrumentation and controls. The Omega Engineering Mexico office will be located in the San Pedro Garza García (Monter- rey metropolitan) area in the state of Nuevo León.
