Technical Service Manager, MPG Overview


We are looking for a hands-on professional to provide technical support to the foundry industry. This role will focus on providing technical support for greensand molding processes operated by customers located in the Mid-West.


The ideal candidate will have a strong background in green sand molding processes. General foundry management will be considered a plus. The incumbent will report directly to the Global Foundry Manager.


This position is based in the Metalcasting Division of Performance Materials, a Minerals Technologies (MTI) business unit. MTI is at a very exciting stage in its continuing global growth and this is a great opportunity to play a key role in its evolution and increasing success.


Key Accountabilities:


• Provide technical support to the America’s foundry customer base & support as required to MTI global initiatives.


• Prepare presentations to train foundry personal, sales staff, and operations in basic foundry practice.


• Identify potential new product concepts by working with customers/sales/R&D • Participate in Global Lead Teams to insure consistency of technical support.


• Provide insight to developing market trends which could impact strategic plans for future growth


• Facilitate two-way communications between all levels and maintain a positive team relationship.


• Have interactive communications across the MTI organization.


• Work closely with the commercial team to help insure strategic objectives and plans are being met.


Requirements • 10+ years of progressive foundry experience in technical, quality, manage- ment positions


• Bachelor’s degree in material related field; Master’s business degree desirable. • Track record in coaching and influencing customers and team members


• Ability to communicate at various levels of the organization (written and verbal), with an ability to tailor messages as needed.


• Ability to understand the culture in which one operates, and able to effectively influence and drive change.


• Comfortable working within a matrix organization


• Highly motivated self-starter and able to perform at multiple levels (strategic, tacti- cal, administrative)


• Track record in leading, motivating and developing a team.


• Able to simplify and clarify situations and processes; delivers operational value through intelligent application of processes


• Willingness to learn and apply continuous improvement methods (lean) in daily work.


• Fluent English, ideally also fluent Spanish • Excellent IT skills – MS Office. • Able to travel up to 60% of time

Title: SALES DIRECTOR Reports to: President


Palmer Maus North America, Inc. (PMNA)


PMNA is a Joint Venture between the Italian company Maus – world leader in the production of grinding equipment for the foundry industry and vertical turning equipment for the automo- tive industry – and the US company Palmer Manufacturing & Supply – leader in the production of heavy-duty no-bake foundry equipment. Based in Springfield OH, PMNA will assemble grind- ing equipment and vertical lathes as well as provide sales, service and support for the entire Maus product range in the North American market. The company has very ambitious growth plans and is searching for an experienced foundry professional to fill the Sales Director position; upon delivering successful results, the position may evolve into General Manager of the company.


Description:


• Represents PMNA in a positive and professional manner at all times.


• Manages key customer accounts directly and manages sales representative agencies.


• Responsible for delivering PMNA sales budget, agreed with the President.


• Presents PMNA equipment to customers and at field events including tradeshows, seminars and sales meetings.


• Works with customers to assess equipment needs, determine system requirements and respond to technical questions, in coordination with Maus’ engineering and sales team.


• Communicates to Maus’ engineering and sales team the customer requirements for


proposals, quotation, and installation and works with them to finalize the sales.


• Develops market intelligence about customers and competitors.


• Expected to travel around 50% of the time.


Qualifications: • Hands-on experience in the foundry industry – required. • Technical degree desired or extensive foundry experience. • At least 5 years prior technical sales management experience.


• Strong motivation and proven capability of getting things done.


• Excellent reporting, presentation and communication skills. • Strong analytical and organizational skills.


• Ability to interact with all levels of management at the local and division levels.


• Proficient MS Office computer skills. Package: Attractive, in line with candidate qualifications.
