Ryobi Limited Plans Expansion, New Jobs for Indiana Facility


Japanese company Ryobi Limited announced plans to invest $97.5 mil- lion and add up to 150 new employees for its facility in Shelbyville, Indiana. According to the Indianapolis Business Journal, Ryobi Limited is planning to buy a 350,000 sq. ft. building next to Ryobi Die Casting USA, its American subsidiary. The report says the purchase will expand Ryobi’s operations in the area to four buildings. Ryobi, the article said, will be


able to process 500,000 castings an- nually by 2018 at its structural and engine block diecasting operation. The facility is expected to open


by late 2017. “Ryobi Die Casting is a world-


leading manufacturer of powertrain and structural/body-in-white cast- ings, said Tom Johnson, president, Ryobi Die Casting USA, in a news


Montana Precision Parts Looking to Add 100 Jobs

Butte, Montana, is planning to add 80-100 employees by 2020, according to a local report. General manager Chris Eurich


told the Missoulian that MPP in June purchased a $1.5 million “aerospace shell line” from KEA Automation, Telford, United Kingdom, that automates parts of the casting process. The new equipment, Eurich


said, will help MPP increase pro- duction. According to the article, MPP is making parts for a new type of GE engines called LEAP. He told the Missoulian that the


plant already produces “millions of parts” and brings in $17 mil- lion in sales each year, and more employees will be needed to meet demands for LEAP engines. According to the report,


MPP’s staff devoted to casting will triple, and that their machine shop and tube-and-duct depart- ment will be doubled. 
