AFS Announces Addition of New Vice President
The American Foundry Society (AFS) is pleased to announce it has hired Richard K. Jefferson as its vice president of marketing and com- munications. Jefferson started with AFS on Jan. 16. “Richard Jeff erson brings a strong
background in communications and marketing, and a longstanding commit- ment to manufacturing competitiveness,” said Doug Kurkul, the CEO of AFS. “He will play a key role in helping us advance the three pillars of the AFS vi- sion—Advocate. Educate. Innovate.” Jeff erson has had a successful career in
publications, associations, public relations for law fi rms, new media and video, and journalism that spans more than two

He has signifi cant experience in equipment manufacturing with the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), equipment management with the Association of Equipment Management Professionals (AEMP) and trade shows, CONEXPO- CON/AGG and ICUEE.
