he annual Metalcasting Congress put on by the Ameri- can Foundry Society is the metalcasting industry’s only chance in the year to pull together people from every facet of the casting supply chain. Held this year April 21-23 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Colum- bus, Ohio, the 119th Metalcasting Congress will feature exhibitors, events and technical sessions for metalcasters, their suppliers, and buyers and designers of castings. T e foundation of this annual conference consists


of the tabletop exhibition and technical sessions. T is year’s exhibit fl oor is full with companies supplying materials, equipment and services to the metalcasting industry. T e exhibit fl oor also includes Cast in North America on Wednesday and T ursday, April 22-23. T is section specifi cally dedicated to provide casting buyers an opportunity to meet with potential new casting sources. T e winners of the 2015 AFS/Metal Casting Design & Purchasing magazine Casting Competition also will be on display in Cast in North America.


T e technical sessions will include


presentations on the cost of doing business overseas, casting design, rapid prototyping and defect analysis. Spe- cial interactive roundtable discussions have been planned April 21 that focus specifi cally on casting defects and so- lutions. In the roundtable events, audi- ence members can participate via live polling via smartphone and extended question and answer sessions. Other events of the annual gather-


ing include the Hoyt Memorial Lec- ture, President’s Brunch and Business Meeting, President’s Session, Division Recognition Luncheon and Alumni
