Newscast O’Fallon Casting, O’Fallon,
Mo., has provided a $5,000 gift to the Missouri University of Science and Technology in support of the
Materials Science & Engineering Senior Design Project. O’Fallon Casting enjoys a longstanding relationship with the university.
Esco Corp., Portland, Ore., has announced it will close its metalcasting operation in Nisku, Alberta, Canada, in August 2015. The plant manufactures steel parts for oil sands mining equipment and employs 100 workers. The facility reportedly will be decom- missioned and its equipment removed for use in other plants.
Bradken, a global metalcaster
headquartered in Australia, an- nounced plans to shut down its operations in Chehalis, Wash. The Lewis County Chronicle reported 91 employees will be affected, although some of the work will shift to the company’s facility in Tacoma. Bradken has seen slowing demand primarily in the mining industry.
Certifi cations Littler Diecast Corp., Albany,
Ind., has been certifi ed by National Quality Assurance, U.S.A. (NQA) as meeting all the requirements for AS 9100, the aerospace industry- specifi c standard relating to ISO 9001 conformity. T e certifi cation applies to the production of custom aluminum and high strength ZA- 12 and ZA-27 diecast products.
Two of Bradken’s North
American facilities, the metalcast- ing facility in Atchison, Kan., and the machining facility in St. Joseph, Mo., have received formal notifi cation of ISO14001:2004 certifi cation through SAI Global. T ese sites are the fi rst of Bradken’s North American locations to attain this certifi cation, confi rming the successful implementation of an environmental management system (EMS) and signifying conformance with international standards for environmental protection.
