in the development of specialized autoclave systems for use in improving productivity and quality in the investment casting industry. Dewaxing Autoclaves—In support of net or near net investment casting, WSF Dewax- ing Autoclaves are custom-designed to meet customers’ production specifications. The illustrated dewaxing system was designed to solve a problem of cracking of product molds during the wax pattern removal pro- cess while using a conventional dewaxing autoclave. The WSF Dewaxing Autoclave System is capable of processing large mold loads of different configurations and vary- ing weights. Process cycles can be repeated in as little as 7 minutes, while attaining and maintaining steam pressures of 100 psig in less than 1.5 seconds. Variable pressure set points, hold time and depressurization rates are programmed into PLC controls. A special feature of WSF Dewaxing Autoclaves are their unique, patented quick-access Rapidoor® closures that lock and unlock in seconds. Cleaning/Leaching Autoclave Systems— WSF Leaching Autoclave Systems are de- signed for operation with caustic solutions at elevated temperatures and pressures. Nickel alloys and other special materials
WSF Leaching Autoclave features a 30-in. I.D. x 48-in. vertical autoclave with a cooling coil, heat- ing system, mechanical agitation and a quick-ac- cess Rapidoor® closure. Supporting components include vacuum and fill systems, a caustic solu- tion supply tank, nitrogen/argon pressurization system, venting & drain systems and an advanced PLC control panel. The unit’s maximum operat- ing conditions are 400 psig at 450˚F.
are used to protect surfaces which come in contact with the caustic solution. Both temperature and pressure may be variably controlled. Models available from basic manual controls to completely program- mable, automated systems. Program op- tions include heating, cooling, filling and draining with repeat cycles as required.
