It’s nearly May, which means things are starting to

heat up around National

Headquarters as we prepare for National

Convention.

starting to heat up around National Headquarters as we prepare for National Convention. For the last couple of years, we have surveyed everyone who attended Convention and asked what worked, what didn’t, what you wanted to see and how we could make things better. Some things are just plain out of our control, sorry! But some things aren’t. For example, many of you said the early mornings were rough, especially if you had three other roommates who needed to get ready. In response, we tried to keep morning start times more reasonable. See the agenda on Page 16. Also, we had a brainstorm about the coupon

you use to register. There were three different coupons last year. This year, only one! Register for Convention, the National President’s Dinner and the 45-Plus-Club Luncheon on one sheet and mail it in with your payment. (We felt a little silly we hadn’t thought of it before!) See Page 17. Elections for Delegates and Alternates should

have happened at your April meeting. If you are a Delegate, that means you get a vote at National Convention. See Page 15 for important information on a recommendation from the Life Membership Committee. Then go to Pages 12-14 to hear from the candidates for Guard. You can see all the Resolutions to the National Bylaws on the website at vfwauxiliary.org. Be informed before you vote! There are a lot of important things to be done

for the new program year. See HQ Memo on Page 19 for things like Installation Reports and Bonding. We want to make sure you know what you need to do. We are looking forward to Charlotte, where I

hope you will get recharged to go back and serve veterans, the military and your communities. We are here to help!
