the world is patchy, there is no doubt that the use of video in academic publishing is on the rise, with publishers and specialist companies making a real impression with librarians and researchers alike. On page 4 we talk to several of the chief protagonists in the sector. Of course, the subject of data sharing has been at the forefront of many industry conversations and initiatives, with more and more organisations requiring that titles include statements relating to the availability of the relevant data, and researchers increasingly likely to make their relevant data available. On page 8 Rebecca Pool finds out more. We have several analysis and opinion pieces – including an explanation of why the microprocessor giant ARM has launched an education media department – as well as reports from several industry events that took place in the last couple of months. For us there’s just one more major industry event this year – London Info International – and then we are into the holiday season. I wish you love, laughter, and a happy and prosperous 2017.
