SWEDISH MASSAGE The most commonly practiced form of massage in Western countries, Swedish massage integrates ancient oriental techniques with modern principles of anatomy and physiology. Practitioners rub, knead, pummel, brush and tap the muscles. Swedish massage is widely practiced; thus, practitioners will range greatly in training, technique and length of session.

THAI MASSAGE Thai – Yoga Bodywork

Traditional Thai Massage, also called Thai medical massage, “nuad phaen borarn,” or assisted yoga, is traditionally performed on the fl oor on a mat or futon. This art is over 2500 years old and indigenous to India and Thailand. It integrates Hatha Yoga and Ayurveda and uses intricate martial art-like fl owing movements in an intuitive dance with the receiver. The practitioner uses hands, feet, elbows and knees to stimulate, tonify, and pacify the physical and energetic pathways using dynamic stretches, rhythmic compressions and rhythmic rocking.

TRIGGER POINT/ MYOTHERAPY Practitioners of Trigger Point apply pressure to specifi c points on the body to relieve tension. Trigger points are tender, congested spots on muscle tissue that may radiate pain to other areas. In releasing tension or spasms, treatment decreases the swelling and stiffness associated with muscular pain and increases the range of motion.

VISCERAL MANIPULATION VM uses gentle, benefi cial evaluation and treatment of internal organ dysfunction, freeing adhesions between organs and enhancing the passive motion of the viscera (organs), allowing organs to properly move fl uids and solids.
