ENERGETICALLY-CLEAR ENVIRONMENTS

by Catherine Filarski

t is an accepted fact that the spiritual energy in your home environment is important to maintaining healthy relationships and happy families. It is energy we can’t always see, but one that we can feel. Humanity as a whole has been trained to look at facts—but our feelings, senses or intuition are often overlooked. If we can’t see it, touch it or taste it, we tend to think it doesn’t exist. However, when situations occur that can’t be explained with logic, we are forced to think with a more open mind. Clearing your home environment is a concept that is beginning to become more mainstream. Just like you would clean your house, one should

also consider clearing their home energetically. It is called “property clearing” but not in the sense of removing leaves from your property. As a healing modality, it is clearing energy from your home. Yes, the energy in your home can be measured. The home on that specifi c parcel of land holds not only the energy of that land but also all the human interactions and situations within the home as well. Your home environment—and the associated feelings that it evokes—can impact your mental, emotional and physical well-being. If your home doesn’t feel good and it can’t be explained, it may help to consider looking outside the

Marketing consultant Ben Ortiz from Lake In The Hills, Illinois, experienced rather unusual occurrences in the home he shared with his girlfriend. They ranged from a feeling of lethargy to home electronics and a paper shredder going off on its own to the sounds of footsteps coming from upstairs when no one else was home. Ben states, “I worked from my home offi ce, so I was the only one in the house on a daily basis. The paper shredder would go off on its own twice a day, once in the morning and then later in the afternoon. When it did that, I would get these chills.”

Ben asked his girlfriend about the paper shredder. “She told me that her husband had died as a result of heart failure due to a drug overdose—and that he used the shredder on a regular basis, once in the morning and then in the afternoon when he opened the mail. My girlfriend didn’t tell me about her husband’s use of the shredder until after I told her about my experience with the device.”

In addition, the deceased husband’s mother used to live with the married couple in the same house. Ben says, “After her son passed away, my girlfriend’s mother-in-law would come for visits and one day I mentioned the shredder issue to her. She said she didn’t like coming over anymore— because every time she would stand near that shredder, it would go off.” That was just one of many different occurrences in the home over a period of approximately 18 months in 2012 and 2013. In addition, two other family members experienced nightmares. The eight-year-old son would say and react to things in an unusual manner. He also claimed he would see a dark image of a man in his room and could not go to sleep without the lights on. A heavy feeling would come over Ben making him tired before 12 noon. Ben is a fi t and active man in his 40s who jogs for exercise and routinely went for his run every morning before starting work. According to Ben, he tried to do a

variety of things to help what he knew was a problem that was not logical, a problem that seemed spiritual in
