February Diary -
The Welsh National Opera present Joachim Herz’s Madam Butterfly, which has been with us for over three decades and with good reason. It’s a classic, traditional staging of this much-loved opera. Whilst being completely faithful to the composer’s intentions, it also critiques imperialism to powerful effect. Each scene looks like a sepia photograph through which we glimpse a vanished world.

Explore the Castle's history from a completely different angle: through tales of ghostly encounters from times gone past to the present day. This is a "no-nonsense, no gimmicks" faithfully researched and delivered torch-lit tour of the Castle Apartments, to the very spots where inexplicable things have repeatedly been seen, heard and felt over the generations. The ghost stories are told in the dark, revealing how at night this Castle takes on a wholly different, atmospheric, and downright eerie character! The tours are delivered through a partnership between Cardiff Castle and Cardiff History and Hauntings. Booking is made direct through Cardiff History and Hauntings.
