SPRING ROADSHOW
NFMFT SPRING ROADSHOW INCLUDING BBQ COMPETITION Wednesday 15th March - Coventry
COMMENT
GETTING involved is something that those with the ‘herd’ instinct naturally do. For many, getting out and about is a bit of a challenge and the daily shop or chat is going on line and Tweeting. Which is great, but for the more tactile, there’s no substitute for touching the goods! Plenty of opportunity
for that at the Spring Road Show in Coventry next month. With a ‘Butcher’s Forum’, competition and exhibitors, it promises to be a great day for new ideas for the summer trade. On another tact. It’s no
accident that there is NO OTHER organisation in the UK that offers the degree of expertise, breadth of representation, services, and support to and on behalf of the craſt butcher and independent meat trade. Tis is because the NFMFT is run by an Executive Council that is pragmatic, grounded and dedicated. By getting involved the Executive Council has seen change, reacted to change and change things for the better. Something that we can all learn from! n

competition, across numerous categories from sausages and burgers through to kebabs. Plus an ‘Innovative BBQ Product’ category.
Being an eccentric bunch
us Brits don’t necessarily wait for good weather to BBQ. So, with Easter on the horizon many customers will be looking to dust off the BBQ and break out the beers – even if an umbrella is called for – with the arrival of the first bank holiday weekend of the year. So, it’s never too early to start thinking about what flavours and aromas you’ll be offering your customers. At around 6.00pm a
complimentary hot fork buffet will be served for all attendees, providing the perfect backdrop to mingle and network before the presentation of competition trophies. To register for this event
