Ffion Crowley-Jones and her model Annette Lindenberg received the Debenham’s Showcase award from Shirley Davis-Fox, MBE, chair of ISA Training.
A new competition at Wales’ premier hair and beauty event brought together 13 make- up artists from the Debenham’s store in Cardiff to showcase their skills and create the best high fashion look. Ffion Crowley-Jones, 20, of Old St Mellons, Cardiff, who works for Urban Decay, emerged the victor with her model Annette Lindenberg, after a keenly contested contest at Salon Cymru, which attracted around
500 competitors and spectators to Y Plas, Cardiff University’s Students’ Union. Salon Cymru is organised by Bridgend-based ISA Training, the largest independent hair and beauty training provider in Wales. Top hairdressing and beauty talent from across Wales attended the dynamic annual event in the capital to showcase their creative skills in eight competitions. Ffion, a fine art graduate, said it was nerve
wracking but she really enjoyed the experience and hopes to return to Salon Cymru to compete again next year. “I honestly didn’t expect to win,” she said. “I originally did a fine art degree, but I really enjoy what I am now doing. My ambition is to grow within the company and hopefully work with the senior artist.” Second was Antonia Nicoloau from Yves Saint Laurent and third was Holly Clark from Benefit.
