Hoist Finance has since expanded to become one of the key credit industry players in Europe, helping hundreds of thousands of customers to become debt free. From relatively modest beginnings, the company is now active in 11 European countries, including the UK, and continues to invest both in its existing operations, and in exploring new countries and markets. At Hoist Finance, we believe that we are
more than ‘just’ a debt purchaser. We are a debt-restructuring partner, acquiring non-performing loans from our clients, international banks and financial institutions, so that they can free up resources for their core business. Through established expertise and rigorous
compliance, we earn our partners’ trust. More importantly, perhaps, we earn
their customers’ trust, supporting them in becoming debt free with fair and sustainable payment plans tailored to their individual circumstances. It is probably why our volume of complaints remains so steadfastly low.
Open and honest dialogue In purchasing a debt, we contact the customer to engage in an open and honest dialogue to better understand their position. This is not so much about treating customers fairly because we have to, but rather because we want to. This is not about ‘ticking a box’; it is everything about creating respect,

are also a regulated financial institution supervised and governed by the very same authorities and regulations as the banks themselves. Operating under a banking license, we take compliance to another level.
Appetite to invest Being safe, however, does not mean that we lack innovation, or the appetite to find new ways of solving traditional challenges. We continue to invest in the latest communication platforms and digital technologies, where they can help create a better customer dialogue. We use SMS and other mobile solutions
where appropriate, and have recently launched a new customer-facing website to make the ‘journey’ as easy as possible and ensure every customer can interact with us using their preferred method. As well as customers and our business,
focusing on each individual as a customer and not a debtor. By adopting this customer- centric approach, we believe we can achieve our ultimate goal: to return every individual to the financial ecosystem as a trusted bank customer. Our clients, including many household
names, know that we are a ‘safe pair of hands’ in an industry where reputation is everything. Our success is based on building long-term relationships, and we are regarded as a transparent and reliable partner. This is partly because we are different; as
well as being authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority here in the UK, we

we invest in the training and development of our people, and adhere to the Code of Practice published by the Credit Services Association. We also share best practice with our peers across Europe, and learn from their experiences. Being safe does not mean, also, that we
are not continually seeking new opportunities to grow our portfolio. In the last two decades, we have acquired and collected on more than 2,100 portfolios, all of them non-performing loans. We have the appetite, the capacity, and
the financial capability to acquire more, and to diversify into different asset classes. We believe we are an extraordinary
