COVERSTORY
New R1-S Push sets whole new standard
In the world of push trolleys, the best just got even better. Two years aſter introducing its revolutionary R1 Push, Stewart Golf, the only British trolley manufacturer, has released the R1-S Push.
T
he stand-out new feature of the latest member of Stewart Golf’s three-wheel push-trolley family is colour options: 15
in total. There’s a choice of three frame options – black, white and platinum – and five wheel options – black, white, green, red and blue. Whatever colour combination the customer
wants is fine by Stewart as the company hand- builds all its trolleys itself in Gloucestershire, giving it the flexibility to cope with requests that importers from factories abroad simply can’t offer because they have to order in such large quantities. Whatever colour wheel is
chosen is complemented by a colour-matched handle knob, although the white and black options will continue to feature a white soſt-touch finished handle knob. But the story isn’t just about
colours: more than 40 design and feature enhancements from the company’s design engineers have been brought together in the R1-S Push, all based on feedback from customers and retailers since the R1 Push came onto the scene. Some are under the bonnet,

such as: double-stamped aero legs and riveted handles aimed at giving even more strength and durability on the course; redesigned splines in the handle to increase reliability in folding; and stiffer material in the axle mouldings to reduce wheel camber under heavy load. But others are more visible to the naked eye: a
drinks holder webbing that is 25mm deeper to make carrying larger bottles easier; a longer bungee to fit more easily around very large golf bags; and stronger brake springs to improve reliability. There are more too: up-rated screws in the
drinks holder to improve durability; redesigned bag supports that are now push-fitted rather than glued to give a stronger fit; general enhancements in the rack & pinion system to improve tolerances; and relocated ball and umbrella holder tubes. Finally, the R1-S Push now ships completely assembled: previously, customers or retailers had to unbox an R1 Push to fit the three wheels and the lower bag jaws. With the R1-S Push, all these are pre-fitted before packing and all a customer has to do is unfold it and it’s ready to use instantly.
