ADVANCED ENGINEERING

Advanced Engineering has revealed details of Bosch’s fi rst recovery machine, the Bosch RG4.0. Building on technologies proven by Promax, the high-effi ciency model off ers competitive recovery rates on all refrigerants. RG4.0 is suitable for A2L refrigerants such as R32, R1234YZ and R01234ZE, and is available in a choice of

110 or 240V. Its ½ HP (1750rpm: 110V), and (1450rpm: 240V) motor ensures that – whatever the conditions – it delivers better recovery throughout. Packaged in the recognisable blue Bosch housing, the RG4.0 is ultra-lightweight and compact. The Bosch RG4.0 is distributed in the UK exclusively by Advanced Engineering.

GILBERTS

Gilberts played a key role in taking the Grade II listed, 98,000 sq ft Arkwright House into the 21st century. It has undergone a £16m upgrade by Catalyst Capital, to create seven fl oors and a basement of premium quality open offi ce space. One of the major issues has been how to deliver adequate quantities of fresh air throughout the building without draughts, bearing in mind that the fi nished soffi ts are over 3m high. Gilberts solved the problem using over 700 of its patented GZL linear diff users. Catalyst and Crookes Walker Consulting worked with Gilberts to prove the design using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling before specifying the diff users, which use a unique cross-fl ow high induction jet to create semi-circular air distribution. This accelerates mixing with the room air, whilst causing rapid deceleration in air discharge.

ARMSTRONG

Armstrong Fluid Technology has launched the new Design Envelope 6800G Boosters which are easier to install and commission, save space in the plantroom, and off er outstanding, energy effi cient performance across a wider operating range than ever before. Uniting the benefi ts of Armstrong’s Design Envelope control technology and high-effi ciency IE5 rated motors, the new 6800G packaged booster range off ers major advantages in installation savings and reduced commissioning time. The new Armstrong Design Envelope 6800G Boosters address the water delivery challenges of high-rise buildings by combining Vertical Multi-stage pumps with advanced variable speed controls. Supplied fully-assembled and integrated, Armstrong 6800G packaged booster sets can be confi gured with two, three, four or fi ve pumps to suit the application.

REZNOR

The RTU series is a range of packaged direct expansion (DX) air source heat pumps and air conditioning units showing compelling performance under EN 14511:2013 and EN 14825:2016 standards, and equipped with EC Plug fan technology and free- cooling as standard. Reznor’s range of high effi ciency packaged rooftop units are available in cooling and heat pump modes.

Both come with energy recovery functions (with heat wheel, or with thermodynamic active or passive) as an option. Tandem scroll and multiscroll technology with electronic expansion valves (EEV) are also available as options likely to be compliant with the ErP 2021 round. Thanks to the width of the RTU line, the fl exible confi gurability and its record nominal COP and EER, spaces which see a variable occupancy rate and changing conditions can gain energy savings up to 30%.

MIKROFILL

Goodyers End Primary School is a community school that was established in 1996. The decision was made to replace the existing LPHW heating plant at the school, with existing boilers and associated ancillaries being removed and replaced with new Mikrofi ll equipment. This included three Ethos 90kW stainless steel condensing boilers, each with an integral shunt pump

providing a total modulation of 30 > 1 (270 > 9kW). Supplied with free standing support frames, Mikrovent 750 low loss header & air/dirt separator and a cascade header sensor, the new boilers supply VT circuits around the Lower School area. The new LPHW installation was complemented with a Mikrofi ll 400 pre-commissioned pressurisation package. The Upper School’s HWS supply was further enhanced by the installation of a new Extreme 500 litre loading cylinder.

SALUS

SALUS has launched the RT520 series – a cost-eff ective thermostat range that meets the requirements of Boiler Plus without having to install smart controls. Courtesy of an OpenTherm Load Compensation energy saving feature, this range provides homeowners with optimum effi ciency and maximum heating control comfort.

Available as wired and wireless RF versions, the RT520 is a battery- operated digital display room thermostat with a large, easy-to-read LCD. It enables the boiler to be modulated, off ering improved control and effi ciency by only using the necessary amount of gas to heat water to the required temperature. Both models feature a new suite of additional functions. These include a notifi cation that the boiler requires servicing, and a PIN option that enables landlords and building owners to only access certain menus on the boiler.
