0Product news The latest products from: Advanced Air

Advanced Air’s universal truly reversible fan coil unit has had further refinements added to speed up this process. Pre-wired looms for right hand and left hand mounting of the control box are included as standard within the unit. Push fit connectors ensure electrical connections are easily and quickly made in production, when changing the handing in the factory or on site. As well as moving the coil through 180° the control box needs to be repositioned so the handing change can be completed. The casing of the fan coil unit has identical side panels pre-punched to accept the control box on either side. A blanking plate fitted acts as a cover over holes not used. Time taken in the factory to make a change from right handed to left handed is now less than 2½ mins for a fully completed fan coil unit. Changes on site can invariably be done in less than 5 mins with no need to re-commission the fan coil unit. www.advancedair.co.uk

Hoval

In replacing an existing inefficient boiler, Wooldown Holiday Cottages in Bude has taken the opportunity to improve heating efficiency and lessen environmental impact by installing a Hoval BioLyt 36 biomass boiler to heat some of their impressive holiday homes. Wooldown Holiday Homes was originally a full board guest house bought in 1934. It switched to self-catering in 1972, and remains so. A total of 16 properties are now operated as self-catering cottages. The Biolyt 36 is situated in the main building, originally built in 1906, and is being used as a small scale district heating scheme, supplying two holiday apartments within the property with heating, hot water and underfloor heating. It replaced an existing boiler which was becoming too costly and inefficient to run.

Logicool Air Conditioning & Heat Pumps has expanded its operations and needed an air conditioning solution to provide improved indoor air quality and working conditions for its warehouse staff. Logicool approached Hitachi for a solution. Hitachi’s newly launched Utopia ES split system was specified and installed in Logicool’s Swadlincote warehouse. The 6HP (RAS-6HVRNS3E) model with a cooling capacity of 14kW has been installed alongside an RPI-6.0FSN4E ducted indoor unit, enabling heated or cooled air to be distributed throughout the warehouse via a ductwork system. The indoor unit static pressure setting is completely adjustable (four settings including a zero static pressure option) and three fan speeds are selectable via the PC-ARFPE remote controller. Operating noise levels are extremely low. Condensate removal is achieved via an in-built drain pump with a lift capacity of 850mm. www.hitachiaircon.com or www.hitachiheating.com

Andrews Sykes

The launch of a new 1,500kW, lower pressure hot-water boiler by Andrews Sykes brings to the industrial fleet hire market an advanced, fully packaged boiler hire unit that features 3-stage NOx burner technology to maximise fuel savings and meet all current EU emission legislation. Its launch follows research by Andrews Boiler Hire that highlights in major projects where large capacities of hot water are required it is often common practice to link a number of boilers. In many such applications the new higher capacity unit will eliminate this, making for a faster and more efficient solution. Available for short or long-term projects, the fully containerised 1,500kW LPHW boiler is fuelled by gas oil as standard but can be converted for use on mains gas supply for short or long term solutions. It runs on a 415V power supply and can be supplied with its own ADR-approved 10,333-litre bunded fuel tank ready to be connected for immediate use. www.andrews-sykes.com
