Carrier

Toshiba Carrier UK (TCUK) is now stocking ranges of Carrier chillers and fan coil units (FCUs), plus CIAT air handling units (AHUs) and FCUs, for next-day delivery across the UK to facilitate fast-track projects. TCUK’s new rapid response service includes Carrier’s AquaSnap 30RBS range of chillers, available in capacities from 40kW to 160kW, and Idrofan 42NH ducted FCUs and 42GW cassettes; plus CIAT’s Floway AHUs, Comfortline ducted FCUs and Melody cassettes. “Delivery lead times are often a key issue for installers and end users,” said Paul Smith, TCUK’s sales director for applied products. “Our new stocking policy enables us to provide customers with a super-quick response to urgent orders, with next day delivery of our most popular models across the UK, subject to stock levels and terms and conditions.” The initiative complements the company’s longstanding DX air conditioning stock offering on Toshiba variable refrigerant flow (VRF) and split systems. Finished chillers, AHUs and FCUs will now be stocked at the company’s locations in Plymouth and Stockport, giving customers quick access across the country.

Quantum air chillers from Engie Refrigeration are now available with optional heat recovery. Customers can thus reuse up to 100% of the waste heat generated during the cold generation process – and use it for heating purposes, for example. This reduces resource use and improves energy efficiency. The feature is especially interesting for industrial enterprises, data centres, hospitals and hotels. Watercooled Quantum chillers have been available with optional heat recovery for many years – and customers are still running them successfully. As this feature has many advantages, Engie Refrigeration now offers it for the Quantum Air as well. The basis is an ingenious technical solution: the experts at Engie Refrigeration integrate an additional heat exchanger in the Quantum Air chiller. This exchanger makes it possible to conduct the heat generated during the cold generation process to a defined heat process – such as production hall heating or warm water supply in offices; otherwise, this heat would be released into the environment, unused, via the air-cooled condensers. Users thus utilise free heat energy that they would otherwise have to obtain from an additional heat generator. This heat energy can be used either completely or partially in what is referred to as combined operation. To this end, the waste heat is transferred to a heat circuit via a parallel flooded shell and tube condenser. The chiller fans now run at partial load or not at all.

AzteQ Environmental is introducing an exciting range of adiabatic condensers from JACIR, which provides extensive cost savings by utilising a hybrid platform in the design.

The ONYX adiabatic condenser is a

combination of a dry condenser and an adiabatic pre-cooling section. When cooling in dry mode is no longer effective the pre- cooling section lowers the ambient air temperature by evaporating water, which passes through humidifying pad media, specially designed for this purpose. This precooled air then passes over the tube coils and condenses the ammonia. Therefore, the ammonia condensing temperature is lower than ambient air temperature. The water in the media, which has not been evaporated is collected and recycled back to the water make-up system, without the need for water treatment. The water saving is significant (80- 95% less water consumption than an evaporative condenser) and is delivered with no risk of Legionella.

Because condensers need to be periodically inspected and be suitably constructed for maintenance purposes, JACIR has designed the range to meet these requirements by utilising vertical H shape tube coils and providing full access through a central door. AzteQ Environmental has enjoyed continued success for the past 15 years. To date, it has been involved with many prestigious projects across the UK and even in these difficult and challenging times, the Company is continuing to grow its position in the marketplace.
