n the wake of the success of its previous event, the 19th European Conference on “The Latest Technologies in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning” will take place on 10-11 June 2021 mixing on-site and on-line participation. The event will welcome global experts from UN agencies, HVAC/R associations, institutions and industry, under the auspices of the Italian Ministry for the Environment. For the first time the #EUConfRAC will be joined by an unlimited audience from every corner of the world, with representatives being invited from 190 countries. The attendees may choose up to one month in advance whether to be in class in Milan or participate remotely. Aiming to make the best of the international healthcare situation, the Technical Committee of the Conference has decided to restructure the event’s programme with five, shorter sessions that accommodate the various time zones.

With a view to the continuous improvement of technological advances and solutions to tackle climate change, with an underlying focus on supporting the United Nations in reaching the ‘17 Sustainable Development Goals’, the 19th European Conference will be a learning and exchange opportunity for the entire HVACR sector, thanks to high-level presentations and lively debates.

On 10 June, after a general introduction by the conference organisers, the first session’s

speakers from the main RACHP Institutions and industry will present the latest technological solutions, with particular attention to new equipment and components that work with alternative refrigerants. The second session will focus on new low-GWP refrigerants, in light of the EU F-Gas Regulation update and energy saving.

The Conference will continue on 11 June with the third session which will be dedicated to developments in efficient and renewable cooling, followed by the fourth session about policy: the EU F-Gas Regulation review, international certifications and licenses and the worldwide HFCs phase-down.

Prior to the conclusions, the event will feature the final and most important fifth session on the cold chain, featuring an up-to-date debate on new control technologies, cold storages and refrigerated transport, including discussions on food and vaccines conservation led by the main international experts on this crucial topic.

Now more than ever, in this significant moment of global change and adaptation, the 19th European Conference will shed light on pivotal topics thanks to scientific presentations held by representatives of the major associations and institutions worldwide, together with leading industry representatives. oshiba Carrier’s new manufacturing subsidiary Toshiba Carrier Air-Conditioning Europe in Gniezno, Poland, has commenced operation and is now manufacturing and shipping products.

The 17,700sqm factory is situated in approximately 37,000sqm of land and manufactures commercial air conditioning, heating, and air- to-water equipment for Europe. Toshiba Carrier now has six HVAC equipment manufacturing bases with two in Japan, and one each in Thailand, China, and India. The Europe HVAC division continues to grow, driven by solid demands for energy-efficient HVAC products to address various environmental goals and regulations in each country. Europe is also witnessing strong sales of heating and hot water supply equipment using heat pumps, or air-to-water (ATW) equipment as an alternative for heating and hot water supply equipment using gas and other

conventional boilers. The new manufacturing base is expected to allow Toshiba Carrier to reduce product lead-times and bolster its product lineup catering to particular needs in Europe, and as a result boost sales of Toshiba- brand products and its business growth outside Japan. “It is a great pleasure to announce the start of shipments from TCAE, thanks to the warm support we have received from the local community”, said Toru Kubo, president and chief executive of Toshiba Carrier. “Our aim is to contribute to environmental sustainability through our heat pump

technologies as well as contribute to the local community through our business operations at TCAE.”

Leveraging its technologies and products, Toshiba Carrier strives to capitalise opportunities for its business growth, better serve customers with better solutions, and continue its contribution to environmental sustainability.
