Commercial air conditioning technology from LG Electronics has garnered a number of recognitions from trusted international organizations for its ability to improve indoor air quality. Certifi cations from Intertek, TÜV Rheinland and Underwriters
Laboratories (UL) awarded to the impressive new LG DUAL Vane Cassette system are confi rmation of the eff ectiveness of LG HVAC solutions in delivering clean air.
The LG DUAL Vane Cassette is the world’s fi rst HVAC solution to receive UL’s GREENGUARD Gold Certifi cation for low volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions. LG’s DUAL Vane Cassette was also recognized by Intertek for reducing the presence of harmful particles in indoor air. Its outstanding air purifi cation capabilities are possible thanks to LG Plasmaster™ Ionizer ‘+’ technology which emits over 3 million ion clusters to attract and carry away allergens and bacteria. For these reasons alone, LG DUAL Vane Cassette is the ideal option for use in public areas such as schools and healthcare facilities where air quality is the highest priority. Another recognition came courtesy of TÜV Rheinland which
certifi ed LG’s 5-step air purifi cation system for eff ectively removing ultrafi ne dust, allergen and harmful bacteria including Staphylococcus aureus from the air. What’s more, LG DUAL Vane Cassette’s air-cleansing and allergen-removing capabilities are also certifi ed by the British Allergy Foundation. LG’s DUAL Vane Cassette is an eff ective and versatile system air conditioning product featuring two vanes that help to deliver strong airfl ow and wide, even coverage within a room or larger indoor space. With six diff erent modes, users can tailor airfl ow direction and strength to any space or to suit their own individual preferences. So what exactly did these certifi cations recognise? The recognitions certifi ed by Intertek showed that the products removed more than 99.9%of bacteria including Escherichia coli KCCM 11234, Staphylococcus aureus KCCM 40050 and Pseudomonas aeruginosa KCCM 11321. The products were certifi ed by TÜV Rheinland for removing 99.9%of ultrafi ne dust measuring 50 nanometers in up to 35 minutes and 99.9% of ultrafi ne dust measuring 100 nanometers in up to 41 minutes. They were also certifi ed for reducing up to 99.9% of Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria in 60 minutes and up to 99.4% of Phi-X174 virus in 30 minutes. All tests were conducted in a chamber of sixty cubic metres.

Fieldpiece Instruments has launched one of the largest jaw pipe clamps for the EMEA – the wired TC48 and the wireless system JL3LC. With an unprecedented 104mm (4, 1/8”) jaw opening, the new pipe clamps are perfect for commercial and refrigeration fi eld service professionals. The clamps, sporting a 18mm – 104mm (¾” to 4, 1/8”) range, can be used on a wide variety of pipe sizes. The clamps are easy to fasten on the pipes but have a snug fi t to alleviate slipping. The new pipe clamps incorporate Fieldpiece-patented Rapid RailTM Sensor Technology making the response time to get an accurate temperature reading merely seconds, thereby enabling the HVACR pro to be more productive. With this proprietary technology, temperature readings are
not aff ected by ambient air or moisture as the thermocouple is thermally isolated and the clamps react immediately to changes in system adjustments as the technician is working. This can greatly facilitate taking a superheat and/or subcooling measurement on most commercial refrigeration appliances or commercial air conditioners. The clamps fi t virtually anywhere they need to and off er a secure
connection even on wet or damp pipes. They are compact, and have an easy-to-open design that allows for quick single-handed placement.
