Schneider Electric names Hall as Zone President for UK&I
S
chneider Electric has appointed David Hall as its new Zone President for the UK
and Ireland. He succeeds Kelly Becker, who is moving to another role within the company following a fi ve-year tenure.
Hall will lead the company’s
strategy across the UK and Irish markets at a time of signifi cant change in both countries’ energy systems. His remit includes overseeing work related to grid modernisation, electrifi cation and the infrastructure required to meet rising electricity demand. He has spent nine years at Schneider Electric in senior leadership roles. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President for Industrial Automation Strategic Accounts, managing global activity across automation and control. Prior to that, he led the UK&I Power
Systems business, working on projects linked to renewable generation, electric vehicles, rail electrifi cation and shore-to-ship charging. Laurent Bataille, Executive Vice
President of Europe Operations, said the region presents “signifi cant growth opportunities” as the UK and Ireland progress plans to decarbonise industry, buildings and power networks. He highlighted the scale of investment underway, including the UK’s net-zero economy projections and Ireland’s National Development Plan.
Hall said he looks forward to leading the next phase of the company’s journey, noting recent investments such as the expansion of its Scarborough manufacturing site. He emphasised the need to stay aligned with changing market conditions and customer

An electrical and electronics engineer by background, Hall has held senior roles at ENGIE, SSE, E. ON, Severn Trent Water, AES and RWE npower. He will work with Becker to ensure a smooth transition period before formally taking on full responsibility for the Zone.

strengthening its technical support capacity across heat pump and ventilation projects. Bennett brings experience in low- carbon technologies and building services, and will work with customers and the internal sales team on project design and technical support. IOR announces new Fellows T
he Institute of Refrigeration announced at the IOR Annual Dinner that two members
have been recognised as Fellows for their leadership and contribution to the RACHP industry. Their achievements include a scope of diff erent areas, including promoting skills, technical development and international outreach. The new IOR Fellows for 2026 are:
Andrew Channon FInstR Channon, the founder of his own training company, has worked with City & Guilds to develop and enhance several of their previous courses. His training centre was among the fi rst
in the country to adopt the new Trailblazer Apprenticeships. A committed supporter of the IOR, Channon plans to continue contributing his expertise in training and education as part of his role as a Fellow, off ering guidance and support wherever it is needed. Richard Lawton FInstR
Lawton, a long-standing member of the UN Technical Options Committee and Convenor for TC104 Refrigerated Containers, is well known within the RACHP community for his work at Cambridge Refrigeration Technology. He has authored several papers for the IOR and has been active in IIR
committees, notably as President of Commission D of the IIR, and in the IOR’s International
Committee work. His contributions also extend to the International Cold Chain Conferences, where he has been a regular and valued contributor. Fellows are regularly invited to contribute to IOR initiatives, whether by giving talks to share their expertise with members or by participating in working groups and
