CIAT

CIAT has launched #CIAT4life, a campaign to spread awareness of CIAT’s advanced IAQ solutions and services to help create healthier indoor environments.

Through #CIAT4life, CIAT strives to support customers improve their IAQ with its new BluEdge service platform.

Through its indoor air quality assessments, CIAT can test air quality and develop and implement upgrades to help ensure optimal fi ltration, ventilation, airfl ow, and controls for their customers. CIAT experts can also develop and implement company wide IAQ engineering standards. CIAT off ers new equipment and retrofi t including innovative

fi ltration technologies with various terminal fi lters and HEPA fi lters for particulate matters. CIAT also off ers devices using UV-C light, to help remove volatile organic compounds and improve IAQ thanks to UV photocatalytic oxidation.

To help create a safer space, CIAT has developed the CIAT Clean Line dual mode air scrubber and negative air machine. As an air scrubber, the unit can improve IAQ by helping to fi lter the smallest particle sizes that may carry bacteria and pathogens, then discharging cleaner air back in the room. The machine can also create negative pressure to prevent air from spreading to adjacent rooms in the building. www.ciat.com

Mitsubishi Electric

Mitsubishi Electric has launched its new Plasma Quad Connect air purifi er for improved indoor air quality. The bolt-on device can neutralise six key indoor pollutants, as well as inhibit 99.8% of SARS-CoV-2 [i]. Plasma Quad Connect can be bolted on to Mitsubishi Electric’s air conditioning for both new and existing indoor units across the M Series, Mr Slim and City Multi ranges. Unique to the manufacturer, Plasma Quad Connect works like an electrical curtain to catch and neutralise even microscopic particles in the air, to signifi cantly improve indoor air quality. The technology, has been independently tested against SARS-

CoV-2 by the Microbial Testing Laboratory, Japan Textile Quality and Technology Centre in Kobe, Japan. Plasma Quad Connect has also been found to be eff ective against bacteria, dust, viruses, mould and allergens such as pollen, in addition to microscopic particles down to PM2.5.

Trane

Trane has introduced the RTXC, its fi rst European air-to-water heat pump with proprietary screw compressor technology. Off ering market leading effi ciencies, renowned reliability of the screw compressor and wide operating map, the RTXC meets the requirements for robust and high-performance comfort cooling and heating across Europe. The Trane screw compressor technology enables the RTXC heat pump to continuously control its capacity, which signifi cantly enhances the water temperature stability. The performance is managed by the Trane Tracer UC800 adaptive controller, which can keep the unit running despite the most challenging conditions and occurrences, when other units would simply shut down. Buildings requiring energy effi cient comfort cooling and heating system can now benefi t from the Trane RTXC market leading effi ciency. With up to 20 percent better effi ciency than competitive units, and coeffi cient of performance (COP) level of 3.5, the Trane RTXC off ers lower operating costs and reduces the energy intensity of the building. Market leading operating map and the ability to deliver 55°C of heating at an ambient temperature as low as -10°C makes the RTXC an ideal solution for comfort heating applications across Europe. www.Trane.eu

“There’s a lot of debate around indoor air quality, especially as we look to move back into offi ces and buildings and good ventilation is the fi rst thing any business should look at,” explained Mark Grayston, product marketing manager for Mitsubishi Electric. “At the same time, air conditioning with good fi ltration can play a signifi cant role in optimising indoor air quality.”

The level of pollutants inside buildings can be as much as up to

fi ve times higher than the outdoors, so being able to remove harmful particles in the air is essential to occupant wellbeing. With greater regulation pushing for air tightness in buildings, improving indoor air quality is also becoming an increasing priority for businesses. “Plasma Quad Connect signifi cantly improves indoor air quality,

providing peace of mind for the building owner and reassurance for building occupants,” added MrGrayston, “It works with new installations but we’ve also designed the device specifi cally to address existing equipment, making it ideal for hotels, leisure facilities, medical centres, retail outlets and offi ces.” The device’s bolt-on capability provides fl exibility of installation

and off ers a more cost-eff ective solution, which means businesses can avoid costly refi ts. With regular maintenance, Plasma Quad Connect has the same service life as an indoor unit and it can be installed with wall mounted units, ducted units and ceiling cassettes systems.
