Fieldpiece Instruments has launched two new leak detectors, Infrared model DR82EUR and Heated Diode model DR58EUR. The two new Fieldpiece leak detectors are highly sensitive, durable and more reliable than anything else on the market. Designed for fi eld use, they are easy to read in bright sun or low indoor light with large, bright blue LCD displays for leak information. The Infrared model DR82EUR, gives technicians superior sensitivity in the fi eld: <1 gram per year. To pinpoint the leak, the user sweeps the area with the DR82EUR IR Leak Detector resulting in the unit sensing a change in refrigerant levels so the user doesn’t have to manually change the sensitivity. The new DR58EUR Heated Diode Leak Detector has a state-of-
the-art heated diode sensor that is very sensitive to CFCs, HFCs, HCFCs, HFOs, and blends, delivering sensitivity better than 1 gram per year. A USB rechargeable lithium-ion battery powers the DR58EUR for up to 18 hours on a single charge. Technicians can check the amount of battery life left when starting up the unit and on the fl y.

SPX Cooling Technologies Inc. has released details of its expanded MH Fluid Cooler line, designed to meet an even more diverse range of applications. The MH Fluid Cooler is now available with three coil materials, each delivering its own advantages. The most recent innovation, the MH Element Fluid Cooler, is equipped with copper coils. Copper off ers superior corrosion resistance and improved heat transfer. Compared with traditional HDG coil fl uid coolers, copper coil requires 35% less fl uid volume, and cooler operating weight is reduced by 20%. Copper is also sustainable, with a high recycle value at the end of its operational life. Other MH Fluid Coolers are available with coils of either HDG (hot dip galvanised) steel or stainless steel. HDG steel off ers good thermal performance in a closed and pressurised system. Models with stainless steel coils use larger coil surface area to achieve results and are often utilised in coastal regions and applications prone to corrosion. One of the most effi cient closed-circuit cooling towers in its class, the MH Fluid Cooler is a hybrid system that combines the functionality of a cooling tower and a heat exchanger. Utilizing a combination of evaporative fi ll media and prime surface coils, the MH Fluid Cooler off ers signifi cantly improved performance over conventional non-hybrid systems. Compared to forced-draft products with comparable footprint, its proprietary CoolBoost technology uses up to 75% less fan energy, requires up to 35% less process fl uid, and reduces operating weight by 15% or more.
