Rehau
Ahead of the summer heat across the UK, a polymer specialist has upgraded their smart heating control to be able to seamlessly transfer between heating and cooling. Allowing developers and contractors to provide effi cient heating and cooling from a single solution, the NEA Smart 2.0 uses a series of algorithms to regulate temperature. These algorithms allow the device to learn occupant habits and data from multiple sensors in fl oors and walls, creating optimal conditions for occupants. Taking the present values for indoors and outdoors temperatures and
their trends as well as the learnt data, the intelligent algorithm in the smart control automates heating and cooling so end users do not need to control it themselves. Effi ciency and comfort for the end user is improved as the required temperature is reached more smoothly without putting maximum demand on the property’s heating or cooling source. Particularly for those working on sealed new build projects, ensuring
moisture levels are optimal is key to preventing damp and mould that could aff ect occupant health. In order to maintain good air quality between heating and cooling, the system uses a sensor to ensure the dew point in the space is not exceeded, and can control a dehumidifi er to keep moisture levels down.

Aermec
Aermec’s Air cooled Turbocor chiller (TBA) with integrated glycol- loop confi nes the glycol to the chiller which off ers signifi cant energy improvements and reduces the volume and costs of glycol.
Turbocor is known for its highly effi cient
compressors that cut emissions, costs and addresses F-Gas, EU and building regulations. The TBA unit is an air-to-water glycol free cooling chiller for outdoor installation. Units range from 400kW - 1.8MW with the option of more
customised solutions depending on the application and specifi cations and off ers a number of unique features; low electrical consumption, using a high effi ciency Turbocor compressor and unique evaporator design, combined with high effi ciency, low noise EC condenser fans capable of delivering the right amount of air at signifi cantly reduced input power.
The TBA can also be supplied with on-board, inverter driven Hubbard
Hubbard Systems is now distributing Friulinox’s compact ‘Chilly’ and ‘Go’ ranges of blast chillers and blast freezers in the UK. They provide operators who are looking to take advantage of food preparation systems, but who only have limited space, a variety of powerful options for safely blast chilling and freezing food with no reduction of food quality. The Go Series is a range of compact blast chiller/freezers available in a choice of capacities. The smallest unit has a capacity of 8kg chilling, or 5kg freezing, while the largest off ers up to 55kg chilling capacity, equivalent to sixteen 1/1 GN pans. All models are capable of lowering the temperature of food from +90°C to +3°C in less than 90 minutes, allowing it to be stored for up to a week, retaining all the moisture and fl avour perfectly. In freezing mode it can lower the food’s temperature from +90°C to -18°C in 240 minutes. The quality of product is guaranteed by the advanced blast chilling and freezing system. The operator can choose cooling cycles either controlled by time or via the core probe ensuring optimum results rather than just blasting the food directly. This protects the food maintaining its quality. Meanwhile a custom, powerful evaporator with large heat exchange surfaces provides high cooling effi ciency. The cabinet uses high density HCFC-free insulation and is constructed from hard-wearing stainless steel externally and internally.

pumps, giving the installer plug and play capabilities, reducing install time and simplifying site installation. A fast re-start of 180- 210 seconds (power maintained to the controller) means that space conditions can be brought back to design within a few minutes. Using R134a, R1234ze or R513a (XP10) a low GWP refrigerant, which is classifi ed within the A1 safety group (ASHRAE 34-1997 standard). The ground breaking design features of the TBA, ensures refrigerant quantities are kept to a minimum so that it has one of the lowest refrigerant charges on the market. Free cooling for buildings where elevated water temperatures can be used, opens up the opportunity to turn off compressors and use the integrated dry cooler system, this often means the introduction of glycol. Glycol reduces heat transfer when added to a system, leading to over-sized equipment, reduced effi ciency and higher maintenance in addition to the environmental consideration of large amounts of glycol in the building. Limiting the glycol to within the TBA chiller, reduces the impact of glycol, resulting in a more effi cient system. The TBA off ers high effi ciencies even at partial loads and features
all aluminium micro channel condenser coils which off er increased heat exchange and low air pressure drops which minimise fan electrical power. It also features free cooling water coils manufactured from copper pipes and aluminium fi ns locked in place by means of mechanical pipe expansion. The water coils are factory tested using pressurised air.
