Adande
Adande Refrigeration has announced that it will continue pricing support for its customer base, for a further 3 months, before implementing a 5% price increase to its UK catalogue, eff ective from 1st September 2021. Although many equipment manufacturers have increased their prices Adande Refrigeration has worked extremely hard along with its supply chain to be able to deliver a degree of certainty and stability by holding its prices, despite absorbing signifi cant cost increases in raw materials as a result of global shortages caused by Covid-19. As a result, Adande Refrigeration will continue to extend its 2020 price freeze, until September 1st, when prices will then be subject to a 5% increase. However, in a move to further assist the hospitality sector this increase will then be held until January 2023, unless there is a signifi cant uplift in input pricing.
Global sales director, Karl Hodgson explained: “Despite the well- documented diffi culties for the UK hospitality sector, I am happy to confi rm some good news today. We are holding our prices once more, extending last year’s price freeze until 01 September.

Sanha
Sanha is introducing a new dimension of pipes and fittings to its existing stainless steel series. While both systems – NiroSan and NiroTherm – already provide installers with a large and flexible range of pipes and fittings including for example tees, couplings, elbows, flanges or wall plates between 15 – 108 mm, the new addition complements the portfolio. With the two XXL dimensions 139.7 and 168.3 mm, even very large risers can be easily realised, for example in high-rise buildings.
Johnson Controls
Johnson Controls has added the Quantech QWC4 air-cooled screw chiller to the brand’s expanded chiller portfolio. It uses variable speed drive technology to reduce energy costs and carbon emissions by as much as 30 percent when compared to traditional chillers. Throughout most locations, the variable speed drive saves energy during 99 percent of operating hours spent at off -design conditions, which include reduced load and/or reduced entering condenser water temperature. Since the Quantech QWC4 screw chiller is capable of handling a higher-pressure lift than a centrifugal chiller, it can be used in both thermal-storage and heat-pump applications. The variable speed drive technology provides the chiller fl exibility in handling high-lift applications with the highest effi ciencies available. This allows the chiller to use a wide range of heat-rejection methods, including an open cooling tower, dry cooler, adiabatic cooler, heat recovery or heat pump. The chiller also reduces environmental impacts by directly managing refrigerant charges and potential leak points. The chiller utilizes the R-134a refrigerant, which has zero ozone-depletion potential, and features an innovative design that reduces the number of potential leak points by 35% when compared to conventional compressor designs. It also incorporates a falling-fi lm evaporator that allows for refrigerant charge to be lowered by as much as 30%compared to standard chillers.

“With this latest addition to our portfolio and the introduction of dimension 168 mm earlier in 2020, we can fully cover the demands for larger piping, for example risers in tall buildings,” explained Mathias Van den Broeck, product and business development manager at Sanha. The demand has been growing in the past years in many parts of the world and are expected to grow even further. Both dimensions are introduced in two types of material. “In this way, we give our customers the opportunity to choose the most suitable and economically advantageous system, depending on the application.”
All NiroSan press fittings and pipes are made from the
premium stainless steel type 1.4404 / AISI 316L (for pressing components). The material 1.4404 contains at least 2.3 % molybdenum, yet less carbon than the conventional type 1.4401. For this reason material no 1.4404/316L is a superior material with higher corrosion resistance than standard stainless steels. This is mainly an advantage in critical applications, such as drinking water installations. The NiroTherm fittings and pipes are produced from the
material 1.4301 (AISI 304). The system offers a safe and reliable solution, especially in humid environments, without the risk of external corrosion and thus offers an excellent alternative to carbon steel systems. Thanks to the high corrosion resistance, there are large savings in personnel and material costs for the insulation against humidity. Furthermore, NiroTherm is also an ideal solution for compressed air systems and for cooling applications with glycol and similar media.
