Toshiba
Toshiba has unveiled the seventh generation of its industry-leading VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) system for centralised cooling and heating in commercial buildings. Completely redesigned from the ground up, Toshiba’s SMMS-u headlines
with its top-class effi ciency, adaptability and connectivity, as well as its ease of installation and year-round comfort control. Regardless of the premises the Toshiba SMMS-u provides a host of
benefi ts to consultants, installers, owners and users. Among several new technologies is Toshiba’s exclusive triple rotary compressor for greater effi ciency and capacity, a space-effi cient chassis and a high-capability communications protocol. Superior energy effi ciency is in Toshiba’s DNA, and the Eurovent-certifi ed SMMS-u is no diff erent. Housed in a compact chassis, energy consumption is minimised through the combination of proprietary triple rotary compressor and super-effi cient heat exchanger. Nine single modules from 8 to 24HP and up to fi ve outdoor units can be combined to achieve 120HP. Whatever the outdoor temperature, SMMS-u is able to operate from -25°C to +52°C.

Panasonic
Panasonic has announced that Texcell, a global contract research organisation, has certifi ed the inhibitory eff ect on the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) by an air conditioner with nanoe X. Texcell verifi ed 91.4% of the inhibitory eff ect on the novel coronavirus in a space of 6.7m3 8 hours.

nanoe X is a technology that collects invisible moisture in the air and applies a high voltage to it to produce ‘hydroxyl radicals contained in water’. Hydroxyl radicals inhibit the growth of pollutants such as certain bacteria and viruses. They are characterised by being strongly oxidative and highly reactive, hence a short life span. Contained in tiny water particles, nanoe X has a long lifespan and can spread over long distances. It has an inhibitory eff ect on both airborne and adhered substances. Panasonic has been conducting research on nanoe Technology over
the past 20 years since 1997 and has verifi ed its eff ectiveness in a variety of areas, including inhibiting pathogenic microorganism (bacteria, fungi, and viruses) and allergens, breaking down PM 2.5 components that have adverse eff ects on the human body. Panasonic will continue to pursue the potential of nanoe X technology
to address possible risks associated with air pollution such as new pathogenic microorganisms, to create healthy environments for people around the world.
