Embraco

Embraco has launched ColDesign software. Using specifi c algorithms, it calculates the refrigeration load for a cold room and defi nes what is the most suitable Embraco condensing unit for the project. This tool is focused on wholesalers of refrigeration equipment, installers and contractors, aiming to reduce their workload and speeding up the process of building and equipping cold rooms. The software is easy to use and brings all the specifi cations in only one tool, selecting the condensing unit, evaporators, valves and pipes. It is free for download from Embraco’s website. Main benefi ts:

 Fast defi nition of the refrigeration load  Defi nition of the right condensing unit according to customers needs  Easy to use  All specifi cations in only one tool  Selection condensing unit, evaporators, valves and pipes.

Clenzair

Eff orts are being stepped up to develop technology to help prevent the transmission of COVID-19 and other viruses through the air and on surfaces in workplaces.

The UK specialist in ‘active’ air fi ltration, Clenzair, has conducted extensive tests on its systems which can provide an air purifi cation that neutralises Covid-19, not only in the air but on surfaces too. The test data to back up this claim has been passed to Excalibur Healthcare Services here in the UK and has received endorsement from leading biochemist Professor Sir Christopher Evans, OBE. The support comes following extensive US trials with further

Midea

Midea has enhanced its VRF off ering by introducing the industry’s fi rst 3 pipe Heat Recovery VRF with zonal leak detection. Available from 8HP to 54HP the V6R range detects real-time refrigerant leakage to guarantee the system’s safe and reliable operation. The downtime for any business is reduced as the system will only isolate the MS zone that detects a refrigerant leak and non-aff ected zones will continue to operate safely. This isolation also reduces the risk of system refrigerant loss whilst limiting any potential risk to room occupants. This new VRF range is versatile and can meet the needs of small, medium, or large sized applications. A total of 64 indoor unit and heat exchanger combinations are available with nominal capacities as low as 1.4kW and up to 200% connection ratio (to outdoor capacity). Performing both cooling and heating operation simultaneously from one system allows for diff erent heating and cooling needs in diff erent areas within any space. The energy effi ciency is maximised by diverting the heat that is removed from the indoor units during the cooling process to areas requiring heating. The V6R is said to be fl exible and easy to install; each outdoor unit is

lightweight with long piping lengths of up to a total of 1000m, improved height diff erence of 110m between outdoor and indoor levels and up to 30m height diff erence between indoor units. Combined with the intelligent MS Box which adds further fl exibility by off ering multiple port options of 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 and up to fi ve indoor units connected to one port - the V6R can meet any design brief or site restrictions.

verifi cation of test results taking place and endorsed by Excalibur. Needlepoint Bi-Polar Ionisation, technology works by producing a high concentration of Positive and Negative ions, delivering them to the space via a powerful destratifi cation fan and aff ecting anything they come in contact with, not just in the air but surfaces as well, including embedded into fabric. This process attacks the outer proteins of viruses inactivating them at their core and rendering them harmless even if they enter the body. This process also eliminates all bacteria, mould and odours. The ions can be distributed to any indoor environment 24/7 while people are present.

Samsung

Samsung Electronics Air Conditioner Europe (SEACE) has launched WindFree Pure 1.0: the new wall-mounted air conditioner model for the residential market equipped with a PM1.0 fi lter for air purifi cation, the unique WindFree Cooling technology, Freeze Wash functionality and smart control functionalities. The wall-mounted model is equipped with an electrostatic PM1.0 fi lter, which works as an air purifi er. The PM1.0 fi lter can fi lter dust particles up to 0.3 μm/microns, sterilize microorganisms using an electrostatic charger, providing cleaner and purer air in residential homes. The WindFree Pure 1.0 is available as per February 2021. The WindFree Pure 1.0 is equipped with an electrostatic PM1.0 fi lter, which works as an air purifi er. The PM1.0 Filter does not only capture ultrafi ne dust up to 0.3 μm but also inactivates certain types of bacteria1 that are captured, using an electrostatic precipitator. It has two main parts that charge and collect dust and certain types of bacteria 1. The brush discharger generates negative ions and these give the dust particles and certain types of bacteria a negative charge, so they become strongly attached to the ground electrode due to the electrostatic force of the collector. The sterilization performance has been validated by British certifi cation expert Intertek.
