PRODUCTS INTERCONNECTION THERMAL FUSE WITH HIGH HOLDING AND OPEN TEMPERATURE

temperatures exceed the rated temperature of the thermal fuse. The G4-series is rated for

continuous operating currents up to 10amps at 250VAC.

T

her -O-Disc’ new G4 257C Microtemp Thermal Fuse, now available from Foremost offers a very high holding temperature and high open temperature. They

respond to the needs of upper limit temperature protection against overheating by interrupting an electrical circuit when operating

The global agency recognition of these devices enables use in a wide range of applications including major and portable appliances including high speed blenders as well as personal care products such as high power irons, steamers and hair straighteners.

t The hold Temperature (Th) has

been increased to 220ºC to ensure applications with higher normal ambient temperature requirements will have added assurance of maintained operation for a minimum period of 168 hours without opening,

as tested per IEC 60691. Other key features include full safety agency approval to UL, VDE, CSA and CCC and evaluation in laboratory conditions to maintain continuity for 1,000 hours at continuous thermal fuse body temperature of 220ºC. Full application notes are

available to ensure users can determine the suitability of the control device for their specific applications, including the level of reliability required. These thermal fuses are available

in a variety of standard and custom configurations, providing one-shot over-temperature protection for a wide variety of applications. www.4most.co.uk

RF CONNECTORS RANGE TWO-PART, HIGH DENSITY PCB CONNECTORS OFFER HIGH RELIABILITY

The ITW McMurdo M200 series PCB connectors from Lane Electronics are two-part, high density PCB connectors for board-to-board or cable-to-cable applications where high resistance to vibration and extreme reliability are paramount. They are two row, 2mm pitch connectors which are designed to meet BS9525 F0033 making them suitable for a wide range of high performance applications. These devices are available in seven sizes of single row from 2 to 17 ways and in 11 sizes of double row from

4 to 34 ways. For extra security, these connectors feature positive latching while a retaining strap is available for extra strain relief. The ITW McMurdo Red Range consists of rugged industrial rack and panel connectors designed for use in

blind mating applications throughout industry. The Red Range is available in four sizes with options for cable or PCB mounting. Users can specify 8, 16, 24 or 32 contacts all with a 5A current capability and peak working voltages to 800VDC and AC. Key features include good current carrying characteristics, barrier or dowel polarization and the use of

floating bushes to assist alignment in hard to access applications. Red Range connectors are said to be good for up to 500 mating cycles and can be supplied with aluminim covers that come with a universal top or side entry cable clamp. This latest series is a two row, two-part PCB connector system based on MIL-C-55302 and is designed for

use primarily in applications where high resistance to vibration and extreme reliability are critical. These include military and aerospace systems and high end engineering applications, where constant exposure to vibration could be an issue that has caused other two-part connectors to fail. The 801 Series is approved to BS9525 N0001 and was originally designed to meet the requirements of BS9525 F0006, F00012, F0027 and F0041. The ITW McMurdo 801 Series features a 1.27mm (0.05in) staggered pitch with 2.54mm (0.1in) between rows. www.fclane.com

Smiths Connectors has released its Slimat elastomeric test sockets, ideal for digital high speed and PoP (package on package) test applications. These sockets ensure an extremely short

signal path enabling stable contact resistance, low inductance and a high frequency bandwidth of -1dB @ 40GHz. Composed of a patented core elastomer technology and contact set, these sockets feature a single component set enabling reduced maintenance and tester downtime through quicker changeovers. www.smithsconnectors.com

A new range of industry standard coaxial connectors and adaptors is now available from Intelliconnect. The Taurus connectors are supplied with the same high level of quality control as Intelliconnect’s Precision and Pisces ranges. These connectors are available in industry standard formats including BNC, SMA, SMB, MCX and N Type. Typical applications include medical, telecoms, satcoms, instrumentation military, aerospace, space, general microwave communications, rail traction, oil and gas and marine systems. The new connectors can be found and

specified on the recently updated Intelliconnect website www.intelliconnect.co.uk which offers visitors easier navigation and improved search facilities and a new “Quote Basket” facility allowing customers to automatically request a quotation for selected products. www.intelliconnect.co.uk

HIGH PRESSURE, HIGH TEMPERATURE HERMETICALLY SEALED SINGLE –WAY CONNECTOR

Smiths Connectors has unveiled its latest high pressure, high temperature Vortex Connector Series, ideal for MWD, LWD and wireline applications. This series is designed to protect critical

electronics in the harsh environments, typical of Oil and Gas applications. The devices feature a single way connector and a mating boot kit, which harnesses the company’s Hypertac hyperboloid contact technology to offer high levels of protection at high temperature and pressure conditions (200°C/35K PSI) with resistance to shock and vibration. The constant wiping action of the

hyperboloid contact ensures lower heat build-up which acts to increase battery life. The high level of signal integrity provides higher data resolution with more data output per hour providing the opportunity to improve the efficiency of the drilling operation and reducing overall system cost. These features also lead to increased meantime between failure and lower maintenance costs. Supplementing the Vortex Series, Smiths

Connectors’ oil and gas product portfolio includes high power, signal and high speed products that are fluid resistant and rated to industry standard temperatures.
