new podcast about how humidifiers can provide economic evaporative cooling in air handling units.

The 10minute

interview with Dave MarshallGeorge, Sales Director at Condair, sees Dave explaining the different strategies available for using humidifiers for cooling in AHUs, as well as the opportunities and limitations each strategy presents. He also outlines a real life case study that illustrates the energy saving benefits of a direct air evaporative cooling design used in a recent telecommunications AHU project. The podcast was produced in

association with BusinessNet Explorer and can be listened to from Condair’s website, Condair.co.uk, or can be found on Apple iTunes, Spotify, Soundcloud and Google Podcasts by searching for “Condair podcast”.

The podcast is Condair’s first published podcast, as Dave MarshallGeorge explains, “Podcasts are a great way for engineers to listen and learn whilst in their car or on their way to work. We wanted to engage with this bitesized learning channel to deliver useful information on a topic we are seeing more and more interest in from consultants and AHU companies. New and improved Inceptor Omni downlight from Ovia

downlight and made a number of significant improvements to enhance its overall performance. First launched in 2017 as part

O

of Ovia’s premium Inceptor product range, Inceptor Omni has proved a popular choice for installers thanks to the ease of installation and flexibility it offers.

It

incorporates Ovia’s awardwinning Flameguard system technology and is Ijoist rated for 30, 60 and 90 minutes. Retaining all the qualities of the original version, the new Omni V2 now boasts a recess depth of just 53mm, thanks to the Flow integrated driver, which means there is no need for an insulation bracket. Omni V2 is supplied with pushfit Flow connectors which feature pushin, low maintenance terminals to offer another timesaving benefit for installers. With the driver now incorporated into the Flow connector, this means that insulation can be laid over the fitting. Among other key features is a CTA switch (colour temperature

adjustable) a builtin, three position switch which allows for instant change of the colour temperature. The lumen output has been increased, up from 500lm on the original version, to 600lm for Omni V2 and it now offers an improved 60⁰ beam angle with all colour temperature selections.
