The use of touchscreen technology on Carlo Gavazzi’s EM340 3-phase energy meter is said to make standard user operations such as page scrolling, programming and parameter checks simpler, faster and easier to read. With its 3x8 digit backlit LCD data display and integrated keypad, this is suited to active energy metering and cost allocation in applications up to 65A (direct connection) and dual tariff management. Pulse output, RS485 Modbus port or M-bus port are options. Designed to measure imported and exported
energy, this is quick to install thanks to its self-power supply from the voltage reference inputs, automatic phase detection with wrong-phase-sequence warning and fast
application-oriented programming procedure. A selection of variables can be programmed,
providing for active and reactive energy measurement. Options include: system variables such as kW, kvar, kVA, VLL, VLN, PF, Hz, kWdmd, kWdmd peak; phase variables including kW, kvar, kVA, VLL, VLN, A, PF. Energy measurement: kWh and kvarh (imported/ exported); kWh+ by two tariffs; kWh per phase. In addition, instantaneous

SOLVING POINT-OF-LOAD CONVERTER TEST CHALLENGES
New to Intepro Systems’ family of power system automatic test equipment (ATE) is the EL 2000 HS (high-speed) electronic DC load, a standalone 40W load module providing point-of-load (POL) connections and point- of-use (POU) for fast slew rate DC loading. With ever-higher switching speeds and lower operating voltages
providing challenges for testing POL/POU power conversion systems, the new load offers a smart on-board load head that minimises inductance, resistive losses and noise. It is also designed for sub-1V testing to meet the demands of low-voltage devices. The unit’s modular POU design and smart on-board load head allow for positioning the load to DUT without the need for customisation. The standard load offers four programmable modes of operation: constant current, constant resistance, constant power and constant voltage. All have a 50MHz measurement bandwidth with a 150MS/s, 14-bit digitiser. Measurements include voltage, current, power, noise, settling time and overshoot/undershoot for both V and I.

This comprises a secure GPS tag with ankle strap and features a wide range
of sensors which constantly acquire numerous forms of data concerning the wearer’s locality and the external environment, as well as other key parameters such as battery status, etc. Extremely sensitive adjustable tamper alert mechanisms have been integrated, which are triggered if any attempt is made to break into the case or to cut the strap. The unit connects securely to a configurable web portal, which can be
referred to in real time. This relies on geolocation data from multiple satellites and base stations, as well as access to state-of-the-art mapping sources, to determine the tag wearer’s exact position. Geofence notifications can be utilised to prevent the tagged subject from leaving (or entering) predetermined areas. Data being transferred between the tag and the web portal is encrypted to safeguard against the risk of security breaches; while data segregation means that confidentially is maintained. It has 16 universally usable, differential analogue inputs for measuring mV and mA signals or any type of thermocouple.
