SOLUTIONS FOR THE RAIL INDUSTRY
Now available from POLYRACK is the FerroRAIL19” subrack series, a verified rack-mount system for individually configurable enclosure and system solutions in the railway industry. According to the company, the series
meets the requirements of the railway and transportation market and the specific demands of the French railways SNCF for electronic components. This includes the standard EN 50155, which combines important standards for on track vehicles: it regulates aspects such as power distribution, isolation coordination, electromagnetic compatibility, shock and vibration
MINIATURE ENCLOSURES FOR USB INTERCONNECT
To house small PCBs using USB as the external power and signal interconnect, Hammond Electronics has extended its popular 1551 miniature family with three new sizes: 35, 50 or 65mm long, 20, 25 or 30mm wide respectively, and all 15.5mm high. According to the company, when
USB3.0 was introduced, offering theoretical data signalling rates of 5Gbits/s compared with the 480Mbits/s available from USB2.0, the protocol became significantly more useful across a variety of applications. The latest standard to be published, USB3.1, further increases performance to 10Gbits/s and reduces line encoding overhead. All versions use a Type A
standard plug as the interface to the host machine. The 1551USB IP54 ABS
enclosures are a traditional lid and base design. These feature a dedicated cut-out for a standard USB Type A plug in one end and have a recess in the lid for an inlay, label or HMI keypad. The two smaller units have two PCB standoffs moulded into the base, while the largest one has four. Each size is available in five
colours with a satin texture finish as standard, although custom colours can be supplied.

NON CORROSIVE ELECTRICAL CABINETS
resistance (NF EN 61373) as well as specific fire and smoke protection standards (NF 16-101/102, class F1, I2). In addition, the series corresponds to the standards NF F 60-005 as well as NF F 67-012 and NF F 60-002. Of benefit, different constructions
can be realised with single components. The basic constructions are available in two designs and the IEEE-versions are also available in a shortened version and shielded with EMC-springs.

Having been appointed as a distributor for Fibox, Foremost Electronics is now offering the ARCA cabinet range. These are available in 14 different sizes from 300 x 200 x 150mm to 600 x 800 x 300mm and can be customised easily. Manufactured in high grade UV
stabilised polycarbonate material, the cabinets are non-corrosive and suitable for use in extremely harsh and demanding environments. They are also lightweight, meet the Low Voltage Directive 2006/95/EC up to 1500 VDC, have a wide operating temperature from -40˚ to +80˚C (+120˚C short term) and meet IP66 to protect from water ingress. The cabinets also provide
excellent protection against vandalism, and are fitted with a patent pending strong hinge designed to withstand regular door opening to 120˚ and the fitting of door mounted components. Multiple locking options are also available. Additional features include a
patent pending lockable inner door and DIN-rail frame set, equipment mounting pods on the base, cover and four base sides, a variable depth option for internal plates and a wide range of accessories to simplify system design. These include mounting plates, corner adjustment set, window cover, galvanised steel inner door set, DIN-rail frame set, support bar set
ENCLOSURES WITH FOUR TERMINAL BLOCKS
New to OKW’s RAILTEC C DIN rail enclosures range is the CV version, which features four integrated terminal blocks. This can be snapped easily onto TH35 DIN rails or mounted directly to the wall; and PCBs slide in on integrated vertical guide rails. Measuring 22.5 x 112 x 99mm, the enclosures can be specified with or without ventilation slots. Each case is supplied with four 4-pole 5mm pitch pluggable terminal blocks yielding 16 poles within the width of the enclosure. Customisation options for RAILTEC CV
include CNC machining, digital, screen and tampo printing, installation and assembly, display windows, adhesive foils plus plastic and aluminium panels. Applications for the range include automation,
building technology, safety systems and HVAC – notably time controllers, sensors, relays, signal distributors and lighting controls. RAILTEC CV follows on from the launch of the
