outhern Manufacturing & Electronics returns to FIVE, Farnborough from
21 to 23 March 2017. The event is well-established as one of the most important showcases for industrial technology in the UK. The 2016 exhibition attracted more than 8,600 visitors, setting a new record for the event. With enhanced accessibility and investment in local infrastructure nearing completion, the organisers expect to see an increase in visitor numbers for 2017. Conveniently located adjacent to the M3 in Hampshire and well-served by public transport, the show is a chance to discover a wide range of companies and industrial technologies in a single, time-efficient visit. Divided more or less equally between Electronics and Manufacturing, the show plays host to a variety of manufacturers, vendors and service providers. In 2016, over 800 companies showcased their wares at the event.
GLOBAL BRANDS Southern Manufacturing now attracts vendors from all over the world, offering attendees an opportunity to meet companies and products they would not normally expect to see at a domestic show. Examples include Swiss ceramic component specialists, Ceramaret, KS Terminals from Taiwan, Cosel Europe, Yamaichi Electronics and Vexos from Germany and Poland’s Transfer Multisort Elekronik. Southern Manufacturing offers sub-assemblies, HMIs, sensors and automation components. The show hosts numerous global brand names, together with hundreds of smaller suppliers. Igus UK returns with live demonstrations of its maintenance- free lightweight bearings and cable management systems. Visitors can experience the latest industrial technology from a host of global brands when Southern Manufacturing & Electronics returns to FIVE, Farnborough, this March
Renishaw and Faro Technologies, will be on display. There are speciality oils and fluids from Q8 Oils and Wyse Oils, plus sensors, control systems, connectors, enclosures and other hardware from firms such as Bernstein, CamdenBoss, Variohm Eurosensor, Binder, Zikodrive Motor Controllers and hundreds more. A free technical seminar programme
showcase its range of solutions from miniature parts for electronic printers to huge steel carriers for the oil industry. Highlights this year include its TraxLine dynamic cabling systems and TotalTrax complete turnkey solutions. Fluid power component suppliers
exhibiting include Pneumax. Three new product ranges will be launched at the show: a range of power clamps designed for automotive applications; a range of 316 stainless steel products for the oil and gas industries, including ATEX-certified filters, regulators and valves; and a comprehensive range of vacuum components. Hydraulic and pneumatic systems can also be found on the stand shared by The West Group and Metal Work UK. Examples include hydraulic components, actuators, EB80 valves and control units. Within the Machinery Zone you can
see the latest machinery from leading manufacturers such as Yamazaki Mazak, Matsuura, Haas Automation and XYZ Machine Tools being put through their paces. Tooling and production hardware, including metrology equipment from firms such as Bowers Group, Nikon,

will run over three days in two theatres at the show. A total of 28 sessions will address a wide range of technical, business and regulatory topics. Some of the topics covered in 2017 will include an in-depth look at advanced manufacturing and 3D Printing, enclosure design, Industry 4.0, and the regulatory implications of the Brexit vote. All of the sessions are free of charge, although pre-booking is recommended.
