existing, ageing lift truck needed replacing so we approached Nexen for advice and provided them with an outline specification that suited our requirements. They provided us with a brand new lift truck as a demonstrator through their distributor Lift Truck Rentals and we liked it so much that we stuck with it.”
Having handed Nexen a specification for a predominantly warehouse-based lift truck, Anilox was offered a four-wheel FBX20 electric counterbalanced fork lift, which features a triplex mast and has a lifting capacity of 2,000 kg. The model offers impressive stability and productivity coupled with enhanced operator comfort and safety.

ommissioning a new slab reheat furnace, Danieli Centro Combustion capitalized on application-
tailored DATAPAQ Furnace Tracker systems from Fluke Process Instruments. Two systems were used to profile slabs in four different production scenarios, to set up the furnace, and fine-tune energy consumption. This validation proved to the customer, a leading global steel manufacturer at their plant in Poland, that steel slabs are heated to the required temperature of 1280 °C throughout. The DATAPAQ TP3 data loggers go through the furnace with the slabs and collect temperature readings from 20 thermocouples attached at various depths inside the product. Fluke Process Instruments provided a complete solution with engineering advice on how best to set it up. The electronics is protected by a TB4272-type low-height “phased evaporation” insulation system specified to ensure nine hours insulation to be still safe in case of delays in the measurement run.

elfast-based global shipping and storage company, Relocation Logistics has facilitated developing business needs with the purchase of a Thorworld Industries purpose- modified yard ramp. Having originated as a household removal firm, Relocation Logistics evolved to offer shipping and handling services for timber materials and wind turbine component parts. Receiving regular international shipments of long, large timbers and wind turbine blades, for storage or onward shipment, soon proved the company’s existing rented ramp inadequate. Internet research led to Thorworld Industries supplying a bespoke yard ramp, designed to handle large materials, facilitate fork lift trucks, speed-up loading process, and keep operatives safe. Delivery to Belfast of the bright- orange loading ramp with its castellated sides for safe side-unloading of long items was straight forward, and operatives have been delighted with the kit.
Tasks are now being performed more
effectively, productively and most importantly, safely, and Relocation Logistics hasn’t looked back. Thorworld Industries Ltd

New range of versatile saws for the workshop A
new range of swing-frame, pivoting-bow bandsaws for use in workshops has been launched by the German manufacturer,
KASTO, and is a vailable in the UK and Ireland through the company’s Milton Keynes subsidiary. As a large percentage of the parts used in the manufacture of the various models are identical, the saws are offered at attractive prices. Called KASTOmicut, the versatile machines are designed for high
accuracy cutting to length and mitre cutting of tubes, sections and solid materials. Four model variants are available: manual (P 2.6), manual clamping with hydraulic downfeed (E 2.6), hydraulically actuated clamping and downfeed (U 2.6), and fully automatic (A 2.6) with ballscrew-driven material feed, carbide blade guides and an optional chip conveyor. The saws supersede six machine models in the KASTOpractical and KASTOfunctional series, compared with which they have higher power motors and greater band tension, allowing a 50 per cent increase in cutting force.
