Highly versatile, tGard includes selector switches, safety switches (solenoid and non-solenoid), personnel keys (safety keys), emergency release, push buttons, estops, indicator lamps as well a choice of operating handles for both hinged and sliding guard doors.

OCTITE® gasketing adhesives have advantages over conventional pre-cut compression gaskets and now the technology can be used for even more applications. The popular LOCTITE® 518 gasket sealant from Henkel now cures through light surface contamination (as found in most standard workshop and maintenance conditions) and provides greater application flexibility and improved curing on inactive metals without an activator. The major causes of failure and leakage of a compression gasket are poor surface contact, propensity to relax under dynamic load and bolt hole distortion that causes damage. LOCTITE® gasketing adhesives fill voids, resist high pressure when fully cured on assembly and maintain clamp load. LOCTITE® 518 is a medium-strength anaerobic gasketing adhesive designed for use on cast iron, cast aluminium and steel-flanged mating surfaces. It forms a semi-flexible, chemical-resistant seal that will not tear or degrade and supports thinner, lightweight flange designs.

o improve the safety of workers in nuclear facilities, Smith Flow Control now offers the FlexiDrive remote valve operator. The system can easily be adapted to suit any handwheel- or lever- operated valve in nuclear power plants, making them continuously accessible and safe to operate wherever they are located. The FlexiDrive includes a new fully-integrated counter mechanism which displays the valve position (open/closed), providing the operator with a clear indication of the valve position from a safe vantage point. The system is capable of operating valves as far as 30 metres away and accommodating 540 degrees of bends in the cable run. This remote operation capability improves the safety and functionality of valve operations in nuclear facilities by reducing the exposure of operating personnel to hazardous materials.
