PREMISES & FACILITIES MANAGEMENT FEATURE ACCURATE AIR QUALITY MONITORING
Leading specialist in monitoring instrumentation for occupational health and the environment AcSoft Health & Safety is targeting the facilities management industry with its range of reliable and accurate indoor air quality (IAQ) monitors from E Instruments. Aimed at facilities managers and HVAC professionals, these handheld monitors offer real-time continuous data logging for buildings. The models available are AQ Comfort, AQ PRO and AQ VOC. All boast a lightweight, durable design and provide real-time data logging for graphs, data analysis and easy reporting and incorporate Bluetooth for wireless communication with a PC and printer. Depending on the model the handheld
IAQ monitors measure CO2, CO, VOC, NO2, O3, humidity, temperature, air velocity, air flow and barometric pressure. The AQ VOC instrument provides dynamic photoionisation detection (PID) volatile organic compound (VOC) sensor technology which is capable of detecting 0-20,000 parts per billion (PPB) and 0- 200 parts per million (PPM). Standard features include active internal sampling pump, easy-to-use menu
system, Li-ion rechargeable battery and large internal memory; optional extras are wireless
printer, handheld probe and protective rubber boot. “Indoor air quality has a major influence on the health, comfort and well- being of building occupants,” comments general manager Paul Rubens. “As a result sick
building syndrome is becoming an
increasing concern for employers and building
owners and managers. As specialists in occupational health monitoring systems it was appropriate that we added IAQ monitors to our portfolio. E Instruments’ solutions have been
specially developed to perform precise IAQ parameter testing for a range of toxic pollutants including gases, VOCs, bacteria and moulds in a bid to help avoid or identify a potentially serious health & safety issue.”

AIR CONDITIONER, DEHUMIDIFIER AND FAN IN ONE UNIT
Clarke 3-in-1 mobile air conditioners and dehumidifiers combine air conditioner, dehumidifier and multi- speed fan in one unit. Available from Machine Mart, these
models can provide quick and effective cooling or drying in any facility. A self-evaporation system works to
recycle condensed water in order to cool the condenser, improving efficiency, reducing noise levels and saving energy. Simple touch pads and a remote
control operate air conditioner, dehumidifier and fan functions with ease. Features of all models include:
Class A energy efficient rating Temperature control AC13000: 16-30°C Selectable oscillating air flow direction Automatic 0-24 hour timer Removable washable air filters for
quick cleaning and maintenance Automatic cut out when tank is full Wheels, remote control, outlet hose, hose adaptor and window slider vent.

TECHNOLOGY IN ACTION ADVERTORIAL
here compressed air has been used for blowing water from conveyed components, a better and more efficient option is to install a blower-driven ACI Air Knife System.
These solutions are most commonly used for removing unwanted materials and moisture from product surfaces and typical industrial applications are drying bottles and cans after filling and rinsing; drying automotive parts; any conveyed product that needs drying before labelling or final packaging.
An ACI Air knife System can also deliver heated or cooled air to a surface, or even create an invisible air barrier to separate heated or cooled environments from one another. Further examples include continuous metal heat treating ovens; cold process or storage areas in food processing or dust containment for the entrance to clean rooms.
Air knives deliver a high volume, low velocity continuous curtain that can be configured to supply different air patterns to match exact individual applications and typically have a payback period of less than 12 months when compared to the running costs of an equivalent compressed air system.
