THIS summer, the global health information community arrives in the UK for the 14th International Congress on Medical Librarian- ship (ICML). In a year where the profession is navigating the rapid ascent of AI, tackling misinformation, and championing equity, the Congress provides a vital space for knowledge exchange that transcends borders. With the theme Flourish: Growing Our Communities,
this year’s ICML stands as the premier gathering for health library and information professionals. And with IFLA’s World Library and Information Congress coming to London in 2027, ICML will serve as a high-impact bridge to that event. ICML is being hosted by CILIP’s Health Libraries Group and Partners and Imrana says it provides a unique opportunity to develop knowledge at an inter- national level.
She says: “The 14th International Congress on Medical Librarianship is a dynamic conference for health knowledge, library and information profes- sionals that provides a global perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing our profession. “The opportunity to connect with international colleagues affirms the common interests and prior- ities for health knowledge, library and information professionals and allows us to flourish, growing our communities by sharing globally diverse perspec- tives and experiences. international colleagues connects us and enriches the professional development experience.” Those opportunities to develop international connec- tions and share knowledge beyond borders will help foster new networks and highlighting best practice. Elizabeth says that these connections can bring benefits for all delegates, and the wider teams they represent. “The international nature of this congress gives us a powerful opportunity to learn across borders
