For 125 years, we’ve powered our customers’ potential by providing safe, reliable electric service in a sustainable manner. A lot has changed through the years, but one thing

has remained constant — our customers are at the center of everything we do.

That’s why our dedicated employees work to deliver innovative solutions and build trust with our customers. As we operate our company safely and efficiently, invest strategically in growing our business and engage in the communities

where we live and work, we keep our customers top of mind. This, in turn, creates value for our employees, shareholders and the community.

We’re committed to working with our stakeholders to make Oregon a better, more sustainable place. While we’re not yet where we want to be, we’re making progress and have a lot to look forward to as we aspire to be the region’s trusted energy partner. By no means does this report delve into every aspect of our business. It’s an opportunity to showcase our accomplishments and where we’re working to improve.

From installing LED lights to charging electric vehicles, our customers are more interested in energy than ever before. For example, we have more than 100,000 voluntary renewable power customers — more than any other utility in the nation — who pay extra to purchase clean energy every month, which also helps us manage our environmental footprint.

We’re investing in our infrastructure with an eye toward innovation and sustainable growth by building new wind and natural gas power plants that will help meet our customers’ needs and stabilize power costs. Driven by our commitment to environmental stewardship, we’re testing the possibility of using renewable biomass to fuel our Boardman Plant once we transition away from burning coal at the end of 2020. We’re also electrifying our vehicle fleet, continuing to improve fish passage around our hydroelectric projects and protecting wildlife affected by our generation and transmission operations.

Our success is inextricably linked with the success of our communities. That’s why we invest in programs that advance the education of our future workforce, keep our neighbors safe and healthy and protect our natural resources. Our 2,600 PGE employees give their time, expertise and money to organizations they care about, and we reward their efforts with matching funds to reinforce their community commitments. We roll up our sleeves and engage in regional economic development efforts, as well as development of public policies we believe strike the right balance in making Oregon the best it can be.

The safety of our customers and employees is at the heart of our corporate values. We’re improving but need to do better. Moving forward, we’ve set a goal of zero injuries, and we’re working hard to build a stronger safety culture.

I’m privileged to work with a dedicated team who is driven by a sense of purpose that comes with powering our customers’ lives. We’re passionate about creating a workplace where every individual is valued, new ideas are welcome and change is embraced as an opportunity to grow.

The next 125 years will no doubt bring unprecedented change, and we look forward to working in partnership with our stakeholders as we consider the impact of our long-term business decisions on people, the planet and our performance.
