Dr Jenifer Moody appointed to Energy & Utility Skills Board

The Board of Energy & Utility Skills has welcomed Dr Jenifer Moody as a Non-Executive Director to the Board and Chair of the Board’s new End-point Assessment Compliance Committee

With over 20 years’ experience in establishing and maintaining examinations and assessment, Dr Moody has held executive positions at awarding organisations and acted as Ofqual Responsible Officer.

The Energy & Utilities Independent Assessment Service (EUIAS) is the only apprenticeship end- point assessment organisation dedicated to the energy and utilities sector and achieved Ofqual recognition earlier this year. The Board has established a new sub-committee to ensure compliance with Ofqual’s Conditions of Recognition.

Speaking about this appointment, Phil Beach CBE, Chief Executive of Energy & Utility Skills said:

“We are delighted to welcome Dr Moody to the Board of Energy & Utility Skills. Jenifer brings a wealth of experience in qualification and assessment design and development and has held executive positions with a number of awarding bodies. Her leadership and guidance

will be a welcome addition to the Board.

"The EUIAS has been credited with leading the way since the start of the apprenticeship reforms in England, and the trust and collaboration built with the employers, training providers, regulators and government departments is something that we are committed to investing in. Dr Moody will be pivotal in ensuring that we continue to uphold the highest standards in assessment.”

Dr Jenifer Moody stated “I am really pleased to join the Board at Energy & Utility Skills and chair the End-point Assessment Compliance Committee. I am passionate about vocational education and training and look forward to working with EUIAS, an end-point assessment service that has led the way in so many areas.”

As the leading provider of end-point assessments in the energy and utilities sector, the EUIAS was established in 2014, formed by employers for employers to support the transferability of skills across and within the energy and utilities and

The course is designed specifically for drainage engineers; site managers; water authorities; and tier 1 contractors.

RSMhave offered training & consultancy services for several years and have been working tirelessly over the last few months to get their new training course up and running. Rather than just a supplier, they aim to be an extension of your team – with a goal to increase the quality of workmanship in the industry to ensure correct practices lead to a quality product for the asset owner.

Their one-of-a-kind course will be run over the period of two days and aims to provide an understanding of all levels of CIPP lining and patching. Accredited by EU Skills and

supported by the WRC, they aim to offer confidence to contractor’s clients that all attendees have been trained to a high skill level and understand how to successfully install liners and patches in diameters up to 300mm. Additionally, the course will give an overview of more advanced installation methodologies, inclusive of hot cure and UV/LED lining.

To ensure a well-rounded education is provided, training is both classroom-based and practical with an assessment at the end of each day to test the attendee’s knowledge. Once the course has been completed and all assessments have been passed, participants will receive an industry approved EU skills accreditation that has been approved and is supported by the WRC.
