Selwood donates training
defibrillator to school Selwood has donated a training defibrillator to a school, close to their headquarters & manufacturing facility in Hampshire.
The life-saving piece of kit will be used by staff at Thornden School in Chandler’s Ford for further practice in addition to the annual training that they receive.
Selwood discovered that they no longer had use for the device, now that their training is delivered by St John’s Ambulance, so they approached Thornden School who immediately said yes to the donation.
A defibrillator is a device that gives a high energy electric shock to the heart through the chest wall to someone who is in cardiac arrest. Defibrillation is an essential lifesaving step in the chain of survival.
Ems Hughes of Selwood, said, “Although defibrillators are extremely simple to use, many people are daunted by the prospect of operating them in a life and death situation. With more and more defibrillators in workplaces and the community, it has become important to give the public confidence in using them.”
Roy Blades, Senior Site Manager, of Thornden School, said “We have two defibrillators available at the school for our staff and pupils, as well as for the wider community that makes use of our facilities. We are very grateful to Selwood for giving our staff the opportunity for extra practice in using this important piece of kit”.
New website for Leeds
Water Solutions Company Ant Hire Solutions, the Leeds-based company specialising in equipment and solutions for the utility sector, has just launched a brand new website with improved navigation, better search functionality and many additional new features, all designed to make the site a better experience for their customers.
The investment in the new site is just part of Ant Hire’s continuous commitment to improving their customers’ journey, whether it be via their online channels or their more traditional customer contact points.
The site is also designed to support the company’s ambitious growth plans, whilst keeping the customer firmly at the forefront of their minds.
One of the biggest changes to the sitemap itself is the splitting of their core product offering into two key areas - Wastewater and Cleanwater Equipment – which will significantly help their customers simplify their overall visit, as it directs the customer in a more streamlined way, according to their specific needs.
Once down the right path, the improved search options and better functionality means customers can find and access the information they need much more quickly and efficiently.
Other features of the website include new case 60 drain TRADER | December 2016 |
