IBS Journal April 2016

central to our success. That and its appli- cation across a wide and versatile range of business verticals. Furthermore, we’ve created a cool, socially good product right when the sharing economy, ad-blocking debate, and digital content analysis are at the forefront of discussion, together with the micro-re- ward space being touted as ‘the killer app’ for Bitcoin.

Oh, and changing the name from

tibdit, which no-one could pronounce, to tibit!

IBS Journal: What was your

biggest challenge/setback? CB: Without doubt it’s getting the early adopters on board as tibit is a new concept in a relatively new space and as such is untried and untested. We are faced with apathy as many individuals are not willing to even look at the ease of signing up or downloading the plug-ins, and there has been an unwillingness to change in that they’ve always used PayPal Donate or Just Giving, irrespective of the associated exorbitant costs. And that’s not to mention the fear of the unknown with regards to Bitcoin and its past association with the darknet.

IBS Journal: Where do you

want to be in five years? CB: Behave. Too far, way too far! Our goals and ambitions are focused on the here and now but for the future we want to enhance our knowledge of the diverse business arenas we’re operating in, and ensure tibit is adopted in several large and visible customer environments, even if it’s in beta or A/B test mode to begin with. We want to prove the viability and scalability of the product suite and justify its monetisation model as being profitable. If all these actions are successful, then establishing the organisation on a global footing with an internationally recognised brand is entirely feasible.
