When the part becomes desirable then ACE will sell it to a remanufacturer at top dollar. The auto recycler will then be paid on what the product is worth once it is in high demand,” explains Cunningham.

For recyclers who want to get started with a core pro- gram, he says it’s imperative that they set up their own yard management systems to automatically put the core charge on their invoices.

“For recyclers wanting to get started with a core pro- gram, they have to go in and change the yard man- agement system settings. They also have to look at the value ratios; if something has a low core value you don’t want to charge the core because you don’t want them to bring it back,” says Cunningham. Cunningham has seen steady growth in their core
