ent in less vehicle downtime, the ability to supply the part in the correct color so saving paint and labor costs, and mitigating asset loss by repairing vehicles and sav- ing them from a write-off situation. The potential sav- ings are considerable because the cost of replacing an asset like a police vehicle is very large so a repair is a much better option where possible. FAB Bundle is a business to business website that does not sell cars. Focusing on parts only, the opera- tion was created for customers and allows the trade of parts with a decent margin for the sellers – “it is a level playing field for parts for cars,” said Jason. Parts are removed from the donor vehicles, split into “bundles” and sold to registered bidders on an Internet auction. Bundles available include Front, Rear, Side, Interior, Mechanical, Wheels and Tires, MotorBikes and WYSIWYG (pronounced wizzywig and means “What You See Is What You Get”) that captures all miscellaneous parts, bundles, and widgets. That is not the end of the story, as their story also is about being carbon neutral for six years, ISO14001 accredited, multi-award winning, the first Gold Seal recycler in the UK. It has been a FABulous journey that will continue for many years to come.
There is much more about FAB and the work they complete on their web sites, www.fabdirect.co.uk, www. mygreenfleet.co.uk, and wwww.fabbundle.co.uk. ■
