only equipment they had to wash their hands was a bucket of cold water in the corner of the workshop – they have all been there, and don’t want to go back! FAB recently achieved CAR and Gold Seal accredi- tation, the first in the UK to reach this level of recog- nition. “I truly believe that is what is required to deal with parts and sell goods to people,” said Jason, “we were already at the required standard and there was nothing similar in the UK that we could use.” Parts grading was the key that connected FAB to the ARA, one customer suggested that they develop a parts grading system for the parts they sold so they started investigating the concept, and even started to complete their own standards before realizing that there was already a fully developed process available that was easy to use, understand, incorporate into their business practice and achieve the high standards that FAB required, so they joined the ARA, adopted the parts grading standards and promoted it at the CARS show in the UK last year. All the staff at FAB believe that these standards will help to push the industry forward in the UK and contribute to an improvement in standards across the sector.
