AFFILIATE CHAPTER OF THE YEAR AWARD Iowa Automotive Recyclers Association The Iowa Automotive Re-
cyclers Association received this award because ARA
members felt IARA was always at the forefront of the in- dustry. With their I-CARE Environmental Certification Program, the Iowa Auto Recyclers truly set a standard of excellence for automotive recyclers in Iowa and through- out the auto recycling community. As an association, they are not afraid to try new, creative initiatives, partner- ing with local universities, state regulators, and more to pursue initiatives that will hold illegal operators account- able and raise the bar for everyone else
CAR MEMBER OF THE YEAR Reitman Auto Parts and Sales, Inc., Melbourne, KY Reitman Auto Parts and
Sales, Inc. is a family-owned professional automotive recy- cling facility, which was estab- lished in 1927 and is in its third generation of successful
operation. Its owners have always made the safe and en- vironmentally friendly process of recycling vehicles the basis of their business model, and have served as a role model to their colleagues on the importance of certifica- tion. Their website proudly promotes its participation in ARA’s CAR Program and the community, illustrating the family owners’ commitment to their customers, col- leagues and the environment. It is because of this endur- ing commitment and outstanding leadership that the CAR Program has named Reitman Auto Parts and Sales, Inc. as the recipient of this year’s STAR CAR Award.
REGIONAL DIRECTOR OF THE YEAR Lawrie Beacham, Jeeepart Recyclers, Hervey Bay, Australia Lawrie Beacham was
awarded the Regional Direc- tor of the Year due to his track record as a strong ad-
vocate for the growing number of professional automo- tive recyclers in his region – a vast area representing the diverse countries of South Korea, New Zealand, Japan, Malaysia, Argentina and Australia –and for his many years of commitment to ARA and association programs such as ARADirect and CAR.
MEMBER OF THE YEAR Steve Holland, Brandon Auto Services, Valrico, FL Holland was elected ARA Member
of the Year for his reputation of run- ning one of the most progressive au- tomotive recycling facilities in the industry and his role at the forefront of the legislative arena, as a strong
and dedicated advocate on behalf of ARA member busi- nesses, his state affiliate chapter, and ARA. He is a long- standing Chair of the ARA Events Advisory Committee.

the auto recycling industry and a val- ued member of our ARA community,” said MacDonald. “He and his com-
pany are strong supporters of not only ARA and our many affiliated chapter organizations, but also active in their local communities and really embody the spirit of giving back. Today, Brock Supply is one of the most dynamic businesses in our industry. Brock Supply has exhibited at every ARA Convention since 1967, often committing to the highest level of support.”
