small groups will be sermon-based; that is, each study will be centered on the sermon from the previous Sunday. Te church has created a Director of Small Groups posi- tion to be filled by our current Director of Music, Steve Kroeker, increasing his in- volvement from quarter-time to half-time, adding this role to his music ministry. Stuartburn Gospel Chapel Stuartburn, Manitoba Mark Funk, Pastor Stuartburn Gospel Chapel serves at
Union Gospel Mission of Winnipeg by leading the evening service on the second Sunday of every other month. We greet people as they arrive and provide music and a short message at the chapel service. It is an opportunity for church members of all ages to discover needs outside our own community and to see how God may use us to meet them. Spring Taw Family Day in May was an
opportunity for everyone to spend the day in fellowship at the church, sharing not only food and conversation, but a variety of cleaning and maintenance chores. All ages took part, and much was accom- plished while we built relationships in our own local family. We’re already planning another fellowship time with a picnic and outdoor service in June to mark the close of Sunday School. We have also planned
another service in the park with our sisters and brothers of Vita Bible Church. We continue to look for ways to build and grow our connection with God’s people while we share the Good News in a world that is becoming increasingly hostile to God’s kingdom.

Compass Immanuel Church Rapid View, Saskatchewan Mike Ginther, Pastor Since November 2015, our congre-
gation has had discussions concerning church membership. Like some other churches, we have exercised the option of waiving our constitution at our annual meetings so that everyone present at that meeting could vote. However, we have become increasingly uncomfortable with that, and the discussion took us to a vote. Te result is that we have decided to live by our constitution and permit only members to vote. Even those who were not members at the time of the discussion encouraged us to move in this direction. So aſter many conversations, one on
one and at our meetings, on Sunday, May 15, we received 14 new members into our church. Tat was very exciting, and re- ceiving so many at one time is definitely a first for our church! We’re very grateful to God for having moved in people’s hearts in this way and are blessed to have everyone participating in the work of the church.
