Stena Line Expand Service From Rosslare to Cherbourg
STENA Line expanded its service from Rosslare to Cherbourg with the inaugural voyage of Stena Vision, making the Swedish-owned
ferry company the
operator with the most frequent Irish crossings to continental Europe. Providing unrivalled comfort and choice for passengers, Stena Vision, which has gone into operation alongside Stena Horizon, increases frequency on the Rosslare to Cherbourg route to six departure days and 12 sailings per week as well as significantly bolstering capacity.
Passengers were welcomed onboard with a complimentary glass of prosecco, while there were special gifts for the first freight and leisure guests. With Stena Vision also boasting 42 pet friendly cabins there was also a special presentation to the first pet traveller.
The refurbished vessel can accommodate up to 1,300 passengers and has 485 cabins, more than any other ferry currently sailing from Ireland to the continent.
Emergency Slide Falls From Sky into Back Garden
AN investigation is underway after an emergency slide fell from the sky and landed in a back garden.
The slide somehow fell from a United Airlines Boeing 767 just before it landed at Chicago O’Hare Airport. The FAA is investigating. In a statement, United said: “We immediately contacted the FAA and are working with our team to better understand the circumstances around this matter.”

‘NANA PAM’ is flying high at the age of 73 and has become one of Britain’s oldest cabin crew members. It was on an easyJet flight to Madrid 20 years ago that former hairdresser Pam Clark picked up a recruitment advertisement and was inspired to make her childhood dream come true – at the age of 53.

were surveyed, said they hoped to find a career they were truly passionate about now their children were not dependent on them.

age of 45 thinking about applying for a role as cabin crew at easyJet would be to go for it. When I applied for the role 20 years ago I knew that my age and experience meant I had something really valuable to offer. “Nowadays, I’m meeting more and more colleagues like me who have made a brave career change later in life. Don’t be afraid! My favourite part of the job has been meeting passengers from all over the world and giving them the most enjoyable travel experience possible. I’m proud to work at a company that puts people first.”

Passengers who want a seamless flight experience should opt to fly from London City Airport; this central London airport has the shortest security queues in the county with an average of just 12 minutes, and the shortest flight delay times in the UK at 13.9 minutes, explaining its Google review score of 4.1 – the highest of all the airports analysed. After London City, Belfast City ranked as the second best airport in the UK. The airport has a Google rating of 4.0, thanks to its fast security queues (13 minutes) and low average delay time (15 minutes).
