Calls for Tougher Safety Rules After NYC Tour Bus Crash
QUESTIONS are being asked about New York City tourist bus regulations after last week’s crash sent several people to hospital. The tour bus driver ran a right light. A 2017 report found tour bus operators do not require background checks from drivers nor do they need physical exams every two years like other bus drivers. Tourist buses have less strict policy on drugs and alcohol use before work and lax personal injury insurance policies. Most of the passengers injured suffered cuts and bruises.
Belfast to Dublin Express Service Launches
BELFAST to Dublin gain new express service after £8.5 million investment. Dublin Express, which is part of the Nation Express Ltd, is launching the new bus service from 18th July after teaming up with an NI bus company. Quinn’s coach hire, based in Dungannon County Tyrone, will operate the new service which will take 16 trips to both Dublin Airport and Dublin City Centre from Belfast city Centre daily. 40 jobs in both Belfast and Dungannon are expected to be created by the latest investment.
Bus tickets are currently on sale, with journeys beginning on 18th July 2023.
Teen Questioned After Vandalising Ancient Temple in Japan
A CANADIAN teenager was detained for defacing an iconic 8th-century Japan temple. Toshodaiji Temple in Nara is a UNESCO
World Heritage site. The 17-year-old was accused of carving letters into a wooden pillar, police said. He was questioned over carving his name on the pillar of the temple’s Golden Hall, which is designated a national treasure.
A local tourist visiting at the time witnessed it and raised the alarm with temple employees. The damage was relatively minor and criminal charges are unlikely.

TSA Officers Arrested for Passenger Thefts
THREE Miami Airport TSA screeners have been arrested for allegedly stealing from passengers.
TSA employees 22-year-old Elizabeth
Fuster, Labarrius Williams, 33 and 20-year- old Josue Gonzalez were accused of working together to steal from travellers. The trio were caught stealing money from passengers belongings as they passed through the screening machines. Following police interviews, two of the three have confessed in written statements.

The research reveals this isn’t always the case with many of Europe’s busiest airports far away from city centres with poor facilities and expensive parking. Charles de Gaulle airport in the French capital has been named the most stressful airport for holidaymakers to fly from, with over 57 million passengers passing through annually.
The Paris airport is over 40 km away from the city centre, making it tricky for tourists to travel in easily and boasting relatively few restaurants for its size. London Heathrow comes in as the second most stressful airport with the worst record for delays of any of Europes’ busiest airports.
Ranking third most stressful is Gatwick Airport – at 45.7 kms it is the furthest away from it’s nearest city meaning

Despite the slow wifi, Munich has the second lowest score for plane departure delays (1.7), and serves the 31 million passengers in the 65 restaurants at the airport.

consider a staycation, or using other means of getting to their destination – such as hiring cars for the ultimate summer road trip, where you can take your time and not be bothered by the anxieties of an airport.”
Time for Take off For Loganair’s Donegal to Glasgow Service
LOGANAIR marked a milestone at Donegal Airport when services between the Irish county and Glasgow were restored as part of the airline’s summer timetable. The thrice-weekly flights, operating on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays throughout July, August and September, will boost connectivity between the UK and Ireland and provide the only direct air link between the UK and Donegal.
