New Multi-Million Funding Package Boost to NI Tourism
A £11.5 MILLION funding package has been announced to help the tourism industry bounce back in Northern Ireland. The funding package, announced by Economy Minister Gordon Lyons, is intended to assist the tourism industry not only in its recovery from the pandemic, but to help deal with the new challenges of rising energy bills, rising food and labour costs.
Mr Lyons said: “The industry remains one of the largest employers in the local economy employing almost 1 in 10 of the working population with 70% of those jobs being outside of Belfast.
This package of support will drive much needed additional business through the doors of tourism and hospitality providers outside of the summer season and reduce the risk of job losses in the sector.
“The tourism industry employs people from all sections of society, providing a range of diverse employment opportunities for young people, many of whom have not had the benefit of a university education, and those seeking to return to work. It is vital therefore that we do all that we can to help the industry to weather the cost of living crisis.”

Reviews reveal smaller airports have been consistently good at providing a friendly and efficient service with passengers experiencing smooth service, open space, friendly staff and no queues resulting in stress free travel!

The local media platform – the only travel specific one in NI for over 32 years – is already available to pick up in local travel hotspots such as cruise ports, ferry terminals, airports, tourist information centres and select newsagents, as well as being stocked in every travel agency across the country, but our new partnership is the icing on the cake… a lovely chocolate cake. Ground Espresso Bars was set up in 2001 in Coleraine and has grown to over 30 locations, mostly in Northern Ireland but also three in England, one in Scotland and one in Dublin.
